No kidding, we bitch and complain about the tv and bracket guys giving us no respect while we give this team even less respect, I say we win by 10.

I'm sorry, I've felt confident about this team all year but for anyone to be confident about them going into a place we are 2-8 in our last 10 trips with and with 6 guys in the rotation is the definition of having your O&B glasses on.
I'd love to be wrong but this is setting up to be one where UT hits like 60% of their shots right away and we are clawing our way back all night.

We were favored by about the same amount at Arkansas and at Missouri I believe.

Aberrations happen. We should beat UT and the odds speak to that. Those of you with doubts can be millionaires. Bet against our boys with all your confidence.

The A1, bottom-line, all-or-nothing primary factor in this game will be keeping Young out of foul trouble in the first half. If he gets two early ticky-tacks, we lose all ability to build an early lead and will either be in a dog fight, or losing big. If we keep him on the floor, we have the ability to play our game and the scale is tipped in our favor.

If Pat and Murphy can stay out of foul trouble, we can win this game. Our guard play is superior to theirs, and our defense will be better than any team they've faced.
Big if, though.

I hate that we schedule 9:00pm on the road late in the season, the networks control that, but we must re-think playing our toughest foes always late in the season and on late night tv. It is like we don't even speak up as to this in the media. Oh well, I will be pleasantly surprised with a win, but I am with madgator as to fully expecting another loss on the road. To add to this late season bag of horrors, we are going to have to play guys that have been riding the bench. I hope they surprise everybody, whoever gets in. I like all the freshmen and I wish they could have played more, especially in the early blow-outs, but we are where the injuries and Billy's rotation has us at this point. With talks of a #1 seed, I hope Billy tells them, you lose this game, you can forget that
Even give them a little incentive, you win this game, we take you to the top steak house of their choice, possible Conestoga's in Alachua, but if we lose we go through the drive-in at McDonalds! LOL

So you're not "bullish" on this game? Surprising.

AKA, I live in North Carolina, we have a large number of Tennessee fans/graduates. They hate Florida due to whippings in football. But in basketball they have had our number for a while in Knoxville. I know how important for the Tennessee team and fans that the Florida game, they get a win. They will bring their A game, fans in large numbers and pay the refs. LOL
This is when a great teams have to show they can perform under duress. Two players down that have been instrumental in our season doesn't lead me to a bear position. This game boils down to who wants it the most. Tenn needs it to keep any hopes in post-season alive. Florida needs it for a number one seed. Both have had injuries and with short benches, Stokes or Pat in foul trouble could send this game either way.
I feel this game if close, with the home crowd, it will be our undoing. Time to put up or read where the injury riddles Gators fall short or Florida's road woes continue.
My views as a Gator are to hope some of the young freshmen come in and lend enough help to steal this one on the road and the result would be closer to a SEC reg. season title and the better seeding.
I liked your comment on the last play of the game, "he doesn't watch much Gator Basketball" concerning what we do with the ball in the last minute of game. So I guess you know why my view of this game kind of mirrors that thought, I do watch every game possible as I love college basketball, and I live and die with the Gators. Please telll me I'm wrong!

In conference play, Stokes is leading the league in rebounding at 10.3/game. In scoring, McRae is 4th (17.7/game), Stokes is 11th (14.0), and Golden is 16th (12.8). For the team, UT is 2nd in rebounding margin, 6th in 3-point percentage, and 10th in 3-point percentage defense. They don't appear to shoot a lot of threes. They are turnover prone, ranking 11th in turnover margin and assist/turnover ratio.
So, this looks like a game where we need to gain possession through turnovers to make up for any potential deficit in rebounding margin. I expect to see Young and Stokes in the game together most of the time, as neither coach is going to want his team having the matchup problem if their guy is out. I also think we will see Young try and deny position on rebounds to keep Stokes off the ball and let the other Gators chase it down (as he does a lot). This will keep his rebounding numbers down, even though it helps the team a lot.

I'll be there tonight. Hoping for a big W. Last time I was there for a game was during the back-to-back year and we lost.

Young is a much smarter player than Stokes. If anyone gets into early foul trouble, it will be Stokes. I can see a situation very similar to Saturday, when Arky's big got two early and was totally schooled by Patric.
Now, if Scottie, Kenny and Mike don't do their job out front and deny penetration to UT's drives, then that could be a different story. However, I will be really suprised if Golden outplays Scottie.
McRae will get his points, but without some good production from Golden and Stokes, the Vol's will have a tough time keeping up.
I'm going to be optimistic going into tonight. I believe we can win this one, even with a short bench.
