ESPN has just reported that Daytona and NASCAR officials will release statements on Sunday morning at 9:30 A.M. concerning possible changes for the Daytona 500 race.
Also interesting was that ESPN interviewed a young 16 year old boy who was behind the fence where the accident took place. He took an extraordinary, close up video of the accident as it was happening.

I wonder if these "changes" will hinder future races?

Time will tell. NASCAR officials seem to be puzzled that the fence didn't hold up in that big Nationwide race crash at Daytona.

Congratulations to Flipper for winning the Subway 500 in Arizona!
I think it was hist first NASCAR win in about 2 years, but I'm not sure. When I first started paying more attention to NASCAR a few years ago I was, and still am, impressed how he does those back flips! Especially impressive because he is wearing all that driver gear and certainly not just some light clothes or a gymnastic outfit. I told my brother the guy must have had an athletic background. It was fun watching him to do it again today after the race!

I got a little excited a few minutes ago. I was watching the startup of the Nationwide race at Bristol. And ESPN2 did a live on camera/mike interview with one of my "adopted NASCAR grand kids" Trevor Bayne. Fun listening to the kid give all the answers to the questions he was being asked while he was driving his car. No hesitation on any of them.
These young guys are fun! Confident on everything!

Kyle Busch Avoids Wreck, Wins In Fontana
>> Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano raced side by side in the final lap, two bitter rivals unwilling to give even an inch - right up until they made contact with less than a mile to go. <<
>> Logano managed to finish 3rd despite wrecking into the outside wall after hitting Hamlin, who spun Logano last week at Bristol and sparked a bitter post-race confrontation that didn't cool off during the past week. <<

I see where the Gestapo, AKA, NASCAR, is ordering drivers not to give the appearance that they endorse the NRA.
