If we could have devised a play guaranteed to get Frazier a wide open look, I would have been all for it. But, in those late-game situations, that's hard to do.
Frazier has been awesome shooting the wide open threes. But, when there's a half-way decent close-out, he's been missing most of the time. Fortunately, he's mostly been taking only wide open looks. Tonight was the first time in like 5 or 6 games that he actually missed a three where he was wide open. He's been incredible in that situation.
Call me crazy, but I wasn't too keen on going to Young in the last minute (if they could have gotten him the ball) given how poorly he's been shooting FTs.
On our possession with 20 secs left, I was kinda hoping we'd come out with Wilbekin, Boynton, Rosario, Murphy and.......Frazier - with Frazier ready to flash to one of the corners opposite where-ever his man might go if he helped on defense. But, that was just me and I don't know a fraction of what Donovan does

Call a play for Beal at the end: possible. Frazier: not this team. Now if he were on one wing and Rosario on the other with Scottie driving to the basket and shooting a teardrop or dishing then okay. I am glad that one of our freshmen came in ready to contribute. He has some really nice poise. But this talk about early leaving is really silly. It started with Roberson and hasn't let up.
Patric may leave early because of his body. Brad obviously did. Frazier is a dime-a-dozen bench shooting guard in the NBA. Now if he wants to play the Calathes card then good luck in Europe. Otherwise sit back and enjoy his growth and please stop the over-analysis.

Do you want to know why Fraser wasn't in the game at the end, he wasn't in the game at the end because he passed on a wide-open three at about the five minute mark on a posession that ended up in a turnover as we were trying to get a shot off before the clock ran out. The penetrating guard found him wide-open and he passed it back to Wilbekin. He was on the bench for the rest of the game. He has got to take that shot and Billy was letting him know it

Frazier passed on a wide-open three at about the five-minute mark. It was at a time when we were struggling to get an open shots and he deferred. He went to the bench and never came back in. He needs to take that shot and Billy was letting him know it.

There are no NBA players on this team. Maybe PY but that's a maybe. Watch an NBA game, any game and then look at our players. Nada. Maybe better in Europe. But, that doesn't mean they can't form a great college team, which they are one warm body away from.

I watched him several times last year in high school, and his role and play was very similar to what he is doing now. He is a spot up shooter. Kasey Hill would penetrate and kick the ball out to him. He is by far our best shooter and a good rebounder. I just didn't like the idea of him playing the four last night. Billy needs to stick with the three man rotation of Prather, murph and Young.

Hard to go Prather, Murph and Young when Murphy's on the bench with a strained neck and Young has two fouls in the first half, that is why Fraser played the 4 and yikes Prather was at the five

He's a great FT shooter and a good rebounder. He brings much more to the table than 3 point shots.

Offensively I agree but Matt plays the 4 or 5 in a pinch defensively and I am afraid that he isn't strong enough to pull that off. But I do see a bench player who is brought in occasionally (not in a regular rotation) to shoot 3s. He will probably bounce between the NBA and NBADL.

Frazier is a 4 year player
unless
he grows 3-4 inches and/or DRAMATICALLY improves his ball-handling

I'm in the "You Kiddin?" camp.
This kid is no Bradley Beal, although he has played well and has a bright future. I expect him to be at least 3 years, and more than likely 4.

I think Murphy, Young and Wilbekin will all play in the NBA. How long and how well, who knows. As for Frazier, too early to tell. No one had Chandler Parsons in the NBA even when he was a junior.

I've seen enough to know that Mike II is the best shooter in Gainesville since Lee Humphrey. He's considerably better than Beal at the 3-pointer, has more leadership qualities, and a similar quality rebounder. But he's not as good a ballhandler and not NEARLY as explosive as Beal.
I do believe that Mike will play in the NBA someday, but no time soon. He's at least a 3-year guy.

I love everything from what I am seeing from Frazier, However, if he were in the NBA this time next year, there is no way that he would be averaging 15 points a game and doing what Beal has done so far.
these Brad Beal comparisons need to stop and stop now. They are not fair to Beal or to Frazier.

What's wrong with comparing him to Beal or any other former player, particularly when the comparer concludes that he's not at Beal's level?
When we say that Frazier is shooting the ball better than Beal did last season (which I think is completely true even if Frazier's shots are generally wide open looks), it doesn't mean we're saying Frazier is a better overall player than Beal - or at least it shouldn't. I haven't seen many posters say Frazier is as good as Beal - none on this thread that I noticed.

Why is Beal the constant go-to comparison?
