It's Almost March!
the 'madness' is right around the corner!
post season, bay-bee!
SEC-tourney....
Ncaa's.
still 5 games to go in the regular season and i really really want the SEC title! so, no looking ahead (too much) [for the coaches and team!] and, really, right now: i'm focused on arkansas - will be heading up to g'ville for the game. Go Gators!
despite the loss to mizzou, gators are still atop kenpom. #2 offense (efficiency), #2 defense! lofty metrics for sure! still! and still #1 in the Sagarin 'predictor' rankings (#2 in his composite poll). fabulous #'s, really.
we've got some solid metics, yet we have flaws - but everyone does. we've got multiple threads on that topic.
back to the madness ~~~
i get excited and anxious during march madness. i'm sure i'm not alone in that. and that's what makes a deep run in the ncaa's that much more exhilerating. each win is met w/ celebration and relief. nothing quite like a basketball game in the ncaa's.
if you had a wish for the gator hoops team going into march, what would it be? [that might be a good promotion/commercial - a march madness "genie" that will grant your team one attribute for the tourney].
what one attribute would you want to bestow onto this gator team heading into march?
hit your free throws in crunch time.?
hit all the front ends from the foul line?
automatic press break?
hit all open 3's?
sublime post entry passes?
turnover-free point guard play?
post hook shots that find the net every time?
a quality end of half/end of game/last possession play?
the miracle half-court shot, when needed?
have the refs call it 'fair'?
fearlessness in the lane to take the charge?

From your list I would take "the miracle half-court shot, when needed?" because that means we would win that game. All the others still leave the possibility of losing.

I did note that the UAR game came one game too early. To win out from there UF would have had to win 18 games in a row, ie one more than the school record. Now to win out, UF only needs 14 wins in a row, well inside the UF record of 17.

Honestly, All I really care about is finishing on a 6 game winning streak. The rest is just icing.
As to the OP...Hit our open 3's. This system opens up a lot of 3 balls. Hit them and win.

I've seen plenty of half-court miracle shots taken when teams are down by 4 or more...
Also, it could be the end of the half as well. Taking this option doesn't necessarily mean we would win.

Hit all our 3s. 33 for 33 in that Mizzou game would have emptied the fans by halftime.
