Default Gators and the Draft

How do you see it going for the gators.

Floyd- 1st
Elam- 1-2th round
Gillisee- 3-4th round
Jenkins-4-5th round
Bostic- 4th
Wilson 4-5th round
Reed- 3rd
Hunter- 6-FA
Evans 4th-5th round
Robey- FA
Hammonds- FA
Hines- 6-7th round
Sturgis-6-7th round
McCray- 5-6th round

Did well last year. What would you change? Don't laugh too much just my thoughts.

I don't disagree much with your assessment.

I'd move Bostic up to the 3rd and make Gillislee 2nd-3rd and Jenkins a solid 5th. Josh Evans down to the 5-6th and Hines undrafted.

I think Reed will start to climb after the combine as there is already chatter that he is gaining momentum.

Agree with above to move Bostic into 3rd. Jenkins could have a good combine and gain some favor.

I also think Hunter is a guy that can move up. 5th round most likely but wouldn't be shocked if someone grabs him a round or 2 earlier. Those big space eaters in the middle are a prized commodity.

and Omar is big enough for a 3-4 scheme as well

Yeah was going to say 3-4th for bostic. Reed could go early 3rd and Gillisee middle 3rd. Good feedback

Reed and Jenkins will workout well and watch their stock rise. Reed is a natural missmatch and I expect him to ultimately go from mid 2nd to late 3rd.

Jenkins' solid coverage skills make him a valuable draft prospect in the current pass-happy version of the pro game.

Elam will make teams that don't draft him in the first round pay dearly...

I see Sturgis going in the 3rd or 4th round to a team that has extra draft picks...

Hines and Jenkins higher than you predict

Gillislee lower than you predict

You think Gillislee won't go till the 5th round? Hines could slide into 5th but he's not going to the combine he really did not play WR or RB for us, so think 5th is the best he could do. Jenkins might move up after combine, but still think 4th for him.

Still we should 8-12 gators drafted.

Floyd - Possibly top 5, definitely top 15
Elam - Probably first round, definitely top 50
Reed - Probably second round, needs a big combine (I expect he'll have it)
Jenkins - Probably third round, may slip to fourth
Bostic - Fifth to seventh, but he's going to be a bargain.
Gillislee - Fifth to seventh
Hunter - Fifth to seventh
Sturgis - Sixth or seventh

Don't like the odds of anyone else, but you never know. Just takes one team.

I agree. I believe Larentee will have a better pro career than he did college. It took him several years to gain the necessary weight for him to be productive in Gainesville. If he catches on with a team best suited for his skill set and allows him to rush the passer, he'll have a good career.

I don't think Frankie Hammond will catch a sniff of an NFL team. He doesn't do any one thing particularly well (Except give tours of UFs facilities) and he doesn't do a bunch of things well either, well enough to have an impact in my opinion.

I don't disagree with a lot of these, but I really think there is no chance of Reed going in the second round.

There is def a chance he goes in the second round. What he would need to happen is to perform well at the combine and have Zach Ertz & Tyler Eifert go in the first round. Both are very plausible situations.

Sturgis is a lock to the 9ers, they have like a dozen picks and are desperately in need of a kicker

Are we really that low on Gilli? He has fresh legs and would be a very good complement to another back. The gators spent a lot of time working on this pass blocking I know it is not perfect but someone like the packers for example could use a back like him.

I could see him going anywhere from the 3rd to the 6th. The problem with Gilli is he doesn't do anything special.

This, unfortunately. The league is becoming more and more specialized, especially when it comes to RBs.
