Make FTs Win the Game
Sure, there are several reasons the Gators lost this game. We, however, missed the front end of ALL THREE one and ones. Rosario missed the next FT in the double bonus. We make some FTs and win this game.
That does not sum up the rest of the issues (poor shot selection/ball movement problems/etc.). Too bad this team can't win a damn meaningful game away from the O'Dome. I expect better, but don't see it improving this late in the season. They are what they are.

the only concern about this team is can Wilbekin knock down the free throws in a close game?
Erving Walker must have had half his points at the line and was money most nights

Every body misses from time to time, but I'll take my chances with KB and Rosario at the line. Maybe Frazier needs to be in at the end of the game.

I think there are plenty of concerns. Lack of ability to space properly to get PY open down low. Poor decision making in the transition game. Lack of clutch play by seemingly every member of the team in close-game situations. Maybe there was an exception, but none on the road.

Did he play at all in the last 5 minutes?

I would have liked to see this. It's not Billy's M.O. but right now, Frazier is this team's best shooter.

Patrick Young can't make free throws. That's just the way it is. He missed the front end of at least 2 of those 1-and-1's. Like another poster has said in the past, I wish they would change the basketball rules to allow a team to either accept or decline a foul call. By that I mean let the team either take the free throws or take the ball out of bounds with a fresh shot clock.

Yep, missed free throws and turnovers lead to losses.

I remarked that as well...1 out of a potential 8 points with guards missing three.

Bad free throw shooting is contagious. The problem is that we have guards that rarely get to the free throw line until late in the game. Most of the time it's Young taking early FTs and bricking them. Maybe if our guards got to the stripe a little earlier and a little more often, they wouldn't feel as much pressure late in the game.

I think our average free throw shooting is definitely a concern. We aren't going to beat teams by 25+ all the time in the tournament.
We need to be able to extend leads with good free throw shooting. Young missing the front end of one and one is a turn over. Teams are going to hack-a-Young

I do agree that Wilbekin has to step up and start hitting 70% or more of his free throws. That is one of the requirements of a PG.

We choked our balls off. It was sad.
This team has a lot left to prove. Someone on this team needs to decide that they will not lose in situations like this.

Call an f-ing charge a block and charge a block a couple of times and we win this game.

More than anything this is what worries me. We have the defense to win these close games. This game absolutely should have been won at the free throw line. Free throws will be the downfall of this team in march, if their is a downfall

Missed free throws let Mizzou back in the game. Hit them and Florida probably wins going away.

Even in the NBA, it's all about hitting your FTs. They are usually the difference between winning and losing, especially in the playoffs.
