Embarrassed by my own state today
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingne...in-but-limited
I'll find my way around the magazine issue, but this is still a very bad day for us. This will almost certainly pass the senate too.

Those gun laws WILL NOT do anything but inconvenience law-abiding gun owners.
But they WILL provide the same false sense of security the government gives everyone.

If they pass that they can kiss Magpul goodbye. I'd like to see more companies in the firearms industry follow LaRue Tactical's lead:
http://www.ammoland.com/2013/02/laru...#axzz2LJSU5VX3
Quote:
Due to the recent and numerous new Anti-gun/Anti-2nd Amendment laws passed and/or pending across our country, LaRue Tactical has been forced to reconsider how we provide products to state and local agencies.
Effective today, in an effort to see that no legal mistakes are made by LaRue Tactical and/or its employees, we will apply all current State and Local Laws (as applied to civilians) to state and local law enforcement / government agencies.
In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess.

A few other companies are following suit

I have yet to hear a solid argument for lowering magazine capacity from 30 to 10 or 15 rounds. Just makes no sense at all.

Because anything over 15 rounds looks too scary.

Looks like good legislation to me.
Why does one need a 30 round magazine? Going to shoot an entire herd of deer?

Why does someone need a Lexus? Why does someone need 3 homes? The "need" argument does not hold water.

A Lexus and/or a luxury home are not built for the sole purpose of killing other human beings, so yes, I ask the question, why does one need a 30 round magazine?

I'll decide that for myself. No jagoff politician in Denver is going to tell me what item I can and can't have.

The gun law aside, politicians have been deciding what we could have and couldn't have for a very long time.

You obviously don't understand why we have the 2nd Amendment.

The 2nd amendment isn't addressing hunting. It's about self defense.
If you have a home invasion of three or four men, you want the biggest magazine you can get your hands on. And there no reason you shouldn't have it.

I sure hope Hudson is able to understand this...

More importantly it is about self defense from our own government.

So according to the CDC, motor vehicle deaths on average are higher as opposed to firearms deaths. I would imagine if they looked deeper and had only deaths resulting from a ugh capacity magazine, the numbers would be drastically lower. So yes, cars may not be designed like a gun but they are more effective at killing than are 30 round mags. What makes one any worse than the other?
Like I said, the "need" argument is stupid. Think of something else that almost makes sense.

On a matter of a constitutional right, the burden is not on the citizen to justify having it, but on the state to justify depriving it. The only answer to the question "what do you need this magazine or this weapon for?" is... Who are you, anyway?
