Saying that Arkansas is bad away from home is putting it a little too nicely. Blowout losses at South Carolina and Vanderbilt? Really? They do have a few good wins (UF, Oklahoma, Missouri) and still have a chance to beat UK at home, which will further boost their RPI, but I wouldn't trust them to beat Grambling on the road.

Tennessee doesn't have a good offense, but not many SEC teams do. Alabama has been abysmal on offense lately but is sitting at 9-3 in SEC play. Their RPI is better than Arkansas' right now (69 vs. 78), and Tennessee has a few good opportunities at home (UF, Missouri). If they can finish out 19-11 and win one or two in the SEC, they'll be right on the bubble. I don't think that's very likely, but it's more likely than Arkansas finishing 21-10 imo (which is what they need to do to be considered).

Tennessee got 35 points today from two guys who have been pretty bad this year, Golden had an uncharacteristic 24 and Kenny Hall scored 11. I'm not convinced that UT is any better after today than they were coming in. They beat a team that is really in the dumps emotionally and just checked out on defense. At best, I see the Vol's splitting their last 6 and finishing the regular season 17-13. A .500 record in this league, this season isn't getting it done.

I think Arky can beat UK at home. They have two other home games that I see them winning (TAMU & Poodles), so they finish 3-3, overall 19-12 and 10-8 in the league. I like their chances to win a game or two in the tourney which should push them over 20 wins. That may not be good enough for an invite, but I believe they have a better chance than the Vols.

I'm just more impressed with Arky, mainly because of what they did to us. They have better wins than UT too. I don't see UT beating us or Missouri on their home floor, so Arky would have that edge too.

I suppose this really become a moot argument, because if I was a better person, I'd bet against either of these teams to play in the NCAA tourney.

We will probably get three teams in the dance - Florida, Ole Miss and Mizzou. Alabama will post a strong conference record, but their non-conference performance was abysmal and will require more.

Teams get evaluated on a full season of work, not just conference play. Alabama got bitten by this two years ago, and it may be about to happen again.

If you removed the names of the teams and leagues, I think most basketball folks would cringe at how bad the body of work is this year. 3 teams for a 14 team power conference is shameful. But it would be more shameful if the SECgot more bids and all went out in round 1.

Good point. I don't really see any SEC teams, outside of Florida, advancing to the Sweet 16. Bama and Missouri MIGHT get out of the first day, but that's about it.

I'd say Mizzou s chances just took a big hit. At this point I'd say they are the leading candidate for most disappointing sec team.

Also, I caught the end of the ole miss /ga game and of course was rooting for the Rebels, but that Henderson kid is sure tough to cheer for.

If Alabama wins all the games except the UF game, which would include beating Ole Miss, I think you have to put them in, but they have little room for error. Ole Miss is fortunate to have an easy remaining schedule, or I think they'd be out, but as it is, I think they'll win enough to get in.

To be brutally honest, the only SEC lock is the tournament winner. Obviously, we will not likely lose out, but it could happen and then we will be NIT bound.
