You yanking my chain gets me excited. Ha!
I think it is his size and position relative to the best No. 22 to ever play the game that gets me excited. I really, really like what I see of Lane on film. I think he is a VERY special talent. I think he makes an immediate impact.

What's the big deal about jersey numbers anymore when they hand them out so liberally? Didn't we have 3 guys wearing #4 last year. Floyd and Nixon shared 73. I'm sure there were others as well.

Not as bad as single digit numbers on defensive linemen. Maybe there's a law against being as fast as Jadivion Clowney when you're wearing #63.

Well played lol. People say he plays like Ray Rice. Not sure how true that is though.

Steve Tannen was one awesome player for the Gators! Sadly I think probably don' know about him. I also think of him as a great #22.

when i was a gator student in the early 70s, they made a big deal about players wearing double numbers, like Nat Moore with 33

Tall, fast, strong, explosive. All great qualities for a LB. Needs to gain some weight to play at the SEC level. Led Briar Woods HS to 3 straight Va state titles. Unfortunate he tore his ACL at the end of last season.

Word is that he is healing very well. When he first committed, we assumed he would redshirt. He's saying now that he expects to play in the fall. Looks like a Sam (strongside OLB) in our system. That's probably the most wide open LB position going into the fall. Some people predict Matt will grow into a Buck (weakside DE/stand-up LB). He'd need to get around 245 to get on the field, a little bigger to start.

He wasn't quite the #1 recruit. He needs to win a starting spot for the Gators before he leads the SEC in rushing. He'll be in the mix, but I doubt he starts from day one.

Interesting that both of the previously retired numbers, #11 and #55 were picked.
Mentioned it in another thread, but I think it's great that Robinson will be wearing #11. That was Driskel's favorite number last season.

It depends on what source you go to. Either way, he's 6'1, 225, with reported 4.4 speed. I anticipate that Kelvin will lead the SEC in rushing this year.
The nation's number one prospect will add a nice one-two punch with Jones. There won't be much of a dropoff when Jones comes in to spell Taylor. Also, Strange, we're not even factoring in the combination of size and speed Brown brings to the table. We've also Lane to give us the deepest, most physical group of runners in the country.
I can't wait for the spring time.
