Smile Auburn Game Box Score MVG: Mike Rosario

Mike Rosario's silky smooth shooting led the Gators as they put on an offensive clinic, crushing the Auburn Tigers on the road in a 83-52 win. Rosario scored a Gator career high 22 points with 2 boards, 5 assists and two steals for a total of 90 value credits. Kenny Boynton had an excellent overall game with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists a steal and no turnovers for 80 value credits. Scottie Wilbekin continues his outstanding play at point guard, handing out 10 assists to go with his 6 points, 4 boards and 3 steals to ring up 76 value credits. Honorable mention goes to Erik Murphy and Michael Frazier II who delivered 75 value credits and 70 value credits respectively, giving the Gators 5 players with 70 or more value credits for the first time this season.

The Gators 7 rotational players shot a torrid 60% for the game including a season high 15 3-pointers on 15-30 shooting. The Gators showed excellent ball movement generating 25 assists against 9 turnovers. The domination of the Auburn Tigers came inspite of an off game by Patric Young who only scored 2 points and had 3 rebounds. The Gators just needed Patric's defensive presence however as the perimeter players lit it up, including Michael Frazier's 6-7 from the 3-point line.

The next game up is a late night road game on Tuesday against the Missouri Tigers who expect to avenge a humiliating loss to the Gators. The Gators previously defeated the Tigers in Gainesville with the identical score of today's game, 83-52. Missouri has a 13-game winning streak at home with their only home court loss to Louisville.

Those value scores shows exactly what ESPN said in their recap that the Gator offense was "brutally efficient."

Corrected.
I've been dealing with my brother Michael lately so I inadvertently called Mike Rosario "Michael".
I sure only his mother calls him Michael.

Lost in all the talk about Rosario's shooting yesterday is how well he took care of the ball. This was more important to me. We already knew he was a talented scorer, but he's always been reliable for a few hideous turnovers every game. I don't think he made a single bad pass or cringe-worthy dribble-drive yesterday, and that's the area he needed to improve on.

One more good sign for our tourney run. Love the way he's developing his senior season.

On a side-note: can ANY team stay within double digits of the Gators when Rosario, Boynton, Frazier, Murphy, and Wilbekin shoot like they did yesterday?
