Rubio is a neocon. That means if he becomes president and there's a war to be found, preferably in the Middle East, he will make sure that it's found. (All you have to do, as we all know, is cook some intelligence.)

Yes, let's perpetuate and live by stereotypes. Unless you're being facetious in which case I apologize, but that doesn't seem the case. Let's take half of our country and assume just because they consider themselves as Republicans, they're all the same and want the exact same thing. If we were talking about stereotyping blacks as thugs, Mexicans as illegals, and Asians as bad drivers -- would you still be okay with it? It's the same thing -- taking an entire group of people and assuming they all fit a certain mold.

Okay, let me put it another way. Rubio attracts neocons like Flies.
Can the liberal media possibly become anymore superficial? Come on, people! October is over! Will investigative journalism ever exist again with a Dem as Prez? Highly doubtful.
People are just so superficial these days. And some are stupid enough to think that people actually vote on the issues.
Cocodrilo, what makes you think posting to an obviously liberal and biased blog post is going to convince anyone of anything? I don't understand this line of thinking. If you're going to debate with someone, posting a link to an editorial on a blog isn't going to help your position, it hurts it. It shows that you're more interested in reading information that is catered to your specific ideas and beliefs rather than what the actual truth is.
You can tell which of you really eat up personal blogs and liberally-biased sites because the term "neocon" is really only used on those. Does anyone in real life say, "neocon" or "neo-conservative" when talking politics? They basically seem like internet buzz-words found on blogs, editorials, and message boards.
Let's quit dancing around the real issue. Rubio is not black enough, not hispanic enough (Cuban barely qualifies) and not old, fat and white enough.
He could be the smartest MFer on the planet and still not stand a chance to win the GOP nomination.
But his mere presence seems to bother Dems for some reason.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president." Author Unknown

Is Rubio a for real conservative or is he just an establishment pick to attract the Latin vote?
I have met him and spoken with him. I believe he is conservative on most issues. The man is a grass roots Republican who can put Florida back in the Republican column. He scares the Democrats because he is thoughtful, articulate and young. It is up to the Republican Party to articulate an immigration policy that is fair to all concerned.
Yes Cococrilo the smoke filled rooms don't pick anyone now. It's the media with their bias and the idiots that think they know better than the rest of the country. They still pick their favorites, they just do it another way. Anything to keep the sheeple fooled and on the plantation!

What are you talking about? I don't know if the "blog post" you refer to is left or right and I don't care. I linked it because it reports Rubio's hiring of Jamie Fly and something of his background. Are you trying to say this report is false? Are you trying to deny that Fly founded the Foreign Policy Initiative, on whose board sit neocons Kagan and Kristol and which is basically the successor to the now defunct neocon Project for the New American Century (founded by Kristol)? Are you trying to say that Fly is not a neocon? What exactly are you trying to say? What you wrote is nonsense.

Yeah I think they do perceive that as a Hispanic he poses a particularly dangerous threat. But the real reason they're all piling on him is because he stuck his head up. That's going to be their plan from here on out, since it worked so well against Romney.
The Whack-a-Pub Strategy: As soon as any Republican so much as starts to look like he might possibly emerge from the pack as a Presidential contender, it's attack attack attack, the earlier and more often the better. And don't let the truth be any limitation on the attacks. Repeat the innuendos and lies early and often enough and by the time election season rolls around they will be the truth.
