Indiana Jones might argue with that.

Please.

Lots of action, not as much snappy banter as past movies. Very cool death for the bad guy. Oh, I'm sorry, should I not have mentioned the bad guy dies?

It was so so.
Not as bad as the critics say. Not excellent however the father/son dynamic is sappy and misplaced imo. (I have no kids fwiw)
The villian is sub par =*(.
The story and twists and turns were not bad. Lots of disjointed action scenes. At no point did I ever get bored with a fight/chase scene though and just want it to be over. (see bourne movies)

I'm sure we could watch Indiana Jones and find some far fetched stunts as well...

I have kids. Would never have spent money to take them to see something like this, though I wouldn't have kept them from seeing it on cable when they were old enough. Texted my daughter at college today to ask if she was going to see it. Got a frowny face back, then a note later saying how disappointed she was in Bruce Willis after his career turning performance in Moonrise Kingdom to do a piece of crap like this. (She's a film major)
These things write themselves. A young, up and coming spec-eff director can knock it out in eight or nine weeks for nine figures. In the mean time, ten great screenplays get turned down because this kind of crap lines up morons at the multiplex who want extra butter on their popcorn.
Loved the first one. Hate sequels in general. This franchise in particular. I hate how a potentially great actor has compromised his career doing this kind of thing over and over.

my soon to be 18 year old saw it last night and thought it was great-so I imagine it will depend upon one's age and perspective

Saw it last night with my two college age daughters. Eh, not so hot. I called it the "Bruce Willis retirement charity event". As stated previously, a movie franchise will always go one movie too deep (in search of ever increasing ROI). This one was weak.

Ummm, kinda like Indiana Jones jumping out of a plane and landing on a mountainside in a raft? Let's just start with that one.

Or avoiding a nuclear bomb detonation by jumping inside a refrigerator.

What? You mean that doesn't work?
Shoot, what do I tell my wife and two kids about the four fridges in my back yard now.
