Floridians only 38% religious
But if you threw out Miami...that figure probably goes up to 50%. 
I guess we're still the least religious southern state in the union...no surprise.

Wash, DC shocks me. I thought the district was about 70% blacks, wherein blacks tend to be quite religious.
On Miami, I suspect there are LOTS of Catholics down there.

Well, it said "highly religious." I suspect that generally translates to church-going, since more and more modernists typically find the term "religious" embarrassing and opt for "spiritual" instead.

I'm guessing that Miami-Dade is much more religious than Broward or Palm Beach or, for that matter, the Southwest coast.

It was partly tongue-in-cheek, Myami....but smaller, more family-oriented towns
tend to have a larger percentage of those calling themselves "very religious".
Hey, I live out here in Los Angeles...and God left this place a long long time ago. 
(don't let the illegal immigrants convince you otherwise).

Being a pastor, I can say that the word "religious" is a term that is thrown around quite loosely now days. If we could determine those that claim a religion compared to those that actually practice, I think the numbers would be on totally different ends of the spectrum. Just something I have noticed in my community.

Oh, I have little doubt that the percentage of serious believers is comparatively quite small. Decades ago, Billy Graham described America as a, "... pagan nation in which many Christians reside."

Yes sir, I remember hearing such a statement, even from my late grandfather who was also a pastor for 40 yrs.
