wow, that picture makes it looks worse than when I saw it live on TV. I hope he gets better, he is a great kid with serious potential.
Begs the question..should athletes be able to go pro once they hit 18...?

He is a top 5 pick on potential alone so why would he come back and risk having another injury like this in college. If there is a long term problem he needs to enter the next draft and get paid while he can then risk another year in college and something else happening.

yeah, I really hated seeing this happen to the kid. UK is in a lot of trouble if he is indeed out for the remainder of the season. Poythress is going to need to step up in a big way...

Poythress is a year away from being a Michael Kidd Gilchrist. He needs a 2nd season to get there, but the NBA will take him on potential.

Yes, the NBA loves the one year rule- it makes colleges a free farm team, to be honest football players should be eligible as well- it'd be much, much rarer for someone to get taken out of high school but it should be like Baseball where you can enter the draft and still go to college (my opinion on this changed dramatically after Lattimore).

ESPN reported that the x-rays are negative, no breaks.
I suspect an MRI will show damage. If not, Noel is the bionic man.

I personally don't think he's as good but I guess we shall see. With UK's incoming class, he may bolt thinking this is his chance to cash out. From a basketball POV, it will severely hurt his game long-term.

He will leave and will not be drafted in the first 5 picks. His stock unless he can somehow come back this year has dropped to second tier lottery pick. NBA franchises are not going to take that kind of a risk on a lottery pick. Look at Odom.
Even if he is completely healthy, he would not have started in his rookie season in the NBA IMO.

I disagree with just about everything you said. NBA drafts are all based on potential. Missing a pick here and there isn't critical like in the NFL. He will still be a lottery pick and probably top 5.

The most depressing part of it all to me was to see the young guy going all out trying to match the effort that Pat was playing with. Bust his ass to get back down court, make an absolutely amazing play and this is how he was rewarded.

Great player, stinks he got hurt. I hope he can have a full recovery and go on to the NBA with no problems.

From the day you got here and every time I hear you speak and your excitement about coaching our Gators, working your tale off and being a straight shooter, you are now one of my all time favorite coaches. Thanks coach.

Sucks he tore his acl looked way worse. People who think he should come back are really stupid. He will be a 1st round lottery pick regardless of this. Good luck to him, hope he recovers quickly.
I hope UK staff have a come to Jesus meeting with Stein or the season could be toilet bowl for real and Goodwin for that matter, and Jeff I don't think Harrow will be around next year his confidence and game is already in the toilet bowl.
UK needs to regroup real quick.

I hate Kentucky. They are arrogant so and so's and I just hate this one and done system of Calipari's but I also hate seeing any athlete hurt. I like Noel. He is a little free with his elbows but he is also a non-stop hustler who never quits on a play which is how he got hurt. He would not concede the easy basket to Rosario. He's a winner and I hope he is able to come back 100% from this terrible injury.
BTW, I think we all knew he was hurt bad. I think anybody who was there or heard on TV knew the kid was hurt bad. This absolutely sucks....

Good new is, in Kentucky there is Dear Antler Spray in every gun cabinet. That's one reason Cal took the job.
True story.
Seriously...I think as I said before, he blew it out on the landing, more than by hitting the padding. This news may verify that.
His landing looked to jam the knee up and to the side just before hitting the padding.
I pray he recovers. By all accounts he is a great kid.
