Was so glad to see him have a game like this on a number of levels.
Scoring the ball, a couple big blocks, some very nice assists for easy buckets.
But mostly it was nice to see what I consider the prettiest play of the season. The unnecessary behind the back pass to Prather at the top of the key and then the subsequent posterization jam. The place went nuts!!!
As I was walking out of the ODome, Mark Wise was interviewing a very humble and appreciative Prather. It was a great scene watching him get interviewed and smiling with excitement.
Loved it

Prather has such athletic ability you just know one of these nights he is going to have a monster game.

He will be the key to our tourney run, just like last year.

Prather has played well all year. His PPP stat is very nice. He just can not stay healthy. If he does, UF will have a true 8 man rotation when Yeguete gets back in a couple or three weeks.

He has something about the way he dunks that I just love... I guess it could be that quick explosion to the basket.

Prather has an enormous offensive advantage over nearly every four he will face. He is so quick and explosive and your average four just does not have the leverage to cut off his dribble penetration or his angle to the the basket. Last year Prather really took off when he got into the rotation at that position and I suspect he does the same thing until Yeguete gets back.

A confident Prather is a very, very dangerous player.

When he catches the ball from 10 feet from the rim or further when a four is guarding him, he should take it to the bucket every single time and make them stop it. He can either score on it or pass for easy buckets if the D collapses. It is a huge mismatch.

He was terrific tonight. In some ways, the key player for us. If he doesn't show up and play like this, the game is a nail biter that goes down to the last shot.
Other players could be replaced, but there was nobody behind him, and he played great.

His jumpers looked confident too. I wish he would shoot the 3 when open. He shoots like 40% from there.

I was at the game, and couldn't figure out what happened right after Prather's dunk. They called a foul on him, and UK shot free throws. Was there a foul on the inbounds pass, or did the announcer in house mistakenly call the foul on Casey?

What was important is that he got some good experience by playing at the 4 and even 5 position giving up 5-6 inches. He played aggressive. Will help the rest of the season and through the tourney when Will comes back.

He actually shoots 31% for his career (8-26). This year he's up slightly at 33% (2-6). He's shooting 62.5% from the field overall this year. I'd say he should just go with what he's been doing.

STRAIGHT F'N BALL'N!!!!
out of CP tonight!
nothing against Yeguette and his potential. But CP can bring so much more to the table as he is a lot more offensively inclined while still having that defensive and rebounding instinct.

someone has to buy him a copy of Pistol Pete Homework Basketball and he has to do the drills every day for 3-4 hours a day.
if that kid could get some handle of the ball he would be ridiculous...and then if he could get a shot outside of 10 feet.....he would be unstopable!

I agree. I've also seen him pass up a few open looks from outside these last couple of games. He still getting his confidence on the floor back with each game, though.
I couldn't be happier for the kid. He's worked so hard for Donovan over the last few years, been an asset defensively, and is on the floor more now that he's taking care of the ball. I remember watching him toward the end of last season, and thinking to myself, "Man, this kid just doesn't get it." I was wrong.
