Until another SEC team steps up to dethrone them, they should be the obvious choice imo. However, there will be some teams gunning for them in 2013. And wwe should be one of them.

True. But at least they would have to go through the SEC plus the Oregons, Oklahomas, Stanfords, etc TWICE to win it all. If they did that then I wouldn't have a problem with it because at least they would have earned it.

It is logical "why", but the road will be a bit tougher and it's difficult to stay on top year after year. The law of averages will catch up at some point.
Again, makes sense, but I would guess OSU has a pretty good chance just due to the lack of competition in conference. That played out this year.

Take a detailed look at Bama's Schedule. It is actually a pretty easy schedule all things considered.
Date Opponent Site
Aug. 31......... Virginia Tech.............................. Atlanta, Ga.
Sept. 14......... *at Texas A&M............................ College Station, Texas
Sept. 21......... Colorado State............................. Bryant-Denny Stadium
Sept. 28......... *Ole Miss..................................... Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 5............ Georgia State............................... Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 12.......... *at Kentucky............................... Lexington, Ky.
Oct. 19.......... *Arkansas.................................... Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 26.......... *Tennessee.................................. Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 9........... *LSU.............................................. Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 16......... *at Mississippi State................. Starkville, Miss.
Nov. 23......... Chattanooga................................. Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 30......... *at Auburn................................... Auburn, Ala.
The entire season, they have no back to back road games, they also have a breather, either a bye or lower tier opponent before and after each tough opponent, and drew the 2 weakest teams from the SEC east. They only have 1 3 week stretch vs bcs level opponents and those teams are Kentucky, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Somebody in the SEC scheduling office, set Alabama up with a perfect schedule. It could not be set up any easier for them.

And if Pitt would have beat ND in the 3rd OT, Oregon would have been in the BCS, and if USC would have beat ND, we would have been in the BCS, and when you stay on hold with your cable company too long... you get angry; when you get angry... you go blow off steam; when you go blow off steam... accidents happen; when accidents happen... you get an eye patch; when you get an eye patch... people think you're tough; when people think you're tough.... people want to see how tough; and when people want to see how tough.... you wakeup in a roadside ditch. Look at the Bama schedule, two FCS teams, and people complain about our 1.

We both lost about the same amount of things- they lost their QB but its not like we have much production coming back anywhere offensively, we lost the middle of our defense, they lost a dominant DE, etc it makes sense that we'd have the same odds hack if anything they probably have a better chance since we have to win the SEC and its probably even between us, UGA and USCe to even win the East and then we'd have to beat Bama, Tamu or LSU just to make it to the title game; whereas FSU just has to beat out what Clemson?

it will likely be ohio state v. alabama in the title game. Alabama's D should control and they should win easily.

I would bet Meyer kicks Satan's ass at a neutral site. Meyer is the only coach who can beat Satan in a NC game.

When and if that time comes, many here will take that bet.

Until someone takes Bammer down in Atlanta, they whould be favored to win it all.

You mean - until someone takes 'bama and the refs down in Atlanta. It's hard to beat two teams at once.

OSU is like FSU was in the ACC when the Noles first arrived in the conference. OSU will have little to no competition until Michigan builds back up to be a Big 10 contender.
Urban is close to home and doesn't have to worry about the SEC and Saban and has hopefully learned that the locker room mess at UF under his watch will not be repeated in Columbus.
Meyer had no clue after Tebow and Addazio had none either. The spread talent left over was not designed to compete against Saban's pro style so maybe that also caused some health issues. It probably would have taken two or more recruiting years to change his team and again become an SEC contender.
