Gator Country

The Stephen C. O'Connell Center will be the site of the next Gator game and it is one which has been much anticipated by fans from both sides. The Wildcats of Kentucky are one game behind the league leading Gators and come into the game riding a five game winning streak. A win by the Gators and we move two games ahead of the Cats, while a win by them would really be a big plus and give them a tie in the league. There is no reason for me to go into any depth in my game description as it is already being more than adequately covered in the various threads in the forum and we have had a lot of good input from both Gator and Cat fans.

I see this as a game where Florida can make a statement and show they rightfully belong at the top of the SEC at this juncture of the year. Kentucky, even if the lose, will get a rematch in the last game so it is imperative the Gators don't let this chance slip through their hands. A loss tomorrow would be a big blow to their chances for an SEC Championship. With that said I pick the Gators by a dozen points in this first matchup of the year between the two teams.

Every year, this is the only game I ever actually feel anxious about until tournament time. I consider Kentucky to be our biggest rivals in basketball, so beating them always feels good and losing always hurts really bad.

What is the under/over on how many blocks their center Nerlens Noel will get?

I've seen Kentucky play three times this year and he's the best shot blocker I've seen without fouling than any other college player this season.

Wilbekin & Boynton will need to know where he is at all times if they attack the lane. Noel will block it if he's anywhere near. Our guards will have to kick it back out to Murphy or Rosario at times tonight. Patrick Young is going to have to step it up and get involved more in this game because of Noel.
