NSD Final (10:30 PM EST) - Top 12 based on the combined rankings of ESPN, 247 Sports, Rivals, and Scout:
1. Alabama 1+1+1+3=6
2. Ohio State 3+5+2+1=11
3. Notre Dame 4+3+3+4=14
4. Florida 2+4+4+8=18
5. Michigan 6+8+5+2=21
6. Mississippi 5+2+7+9=23
7. Louisiana State 7+6+6+6T=25
8. Texas A&M 8+7+10+6T=31
9. UCLA 12+11+11+5=39
10. Auburn 11+10+8+13=42
11. Florida State 9+9+9+16=43
12. Georgia 10+12+12+10=44
2012 Top 12 Rankings For Year Over Year Comparison:
1. Alabama 1+1+1+2=5
2. Texas 3+3+2+1=9
3. Florida 4+4+3+5=16
4. Ohio State 6+5+4+3=18
5. Florida State 2+2+6+11=21
6. Michigan 7+8+7+4=26
7. Stanford 12+7+5+7=31
8. Miami 8+10+9+9=36
9. Georgia 5+6+12+14=37
10. Oklahoma 11+13+11+10=45
11. Auburn 17+12+10+8=47
12. Louisiana State 14+11+18+6=49
Of the top 12 in each year, 8 teams were in the top 12 both years:
1. Alabama 6+5=11
2. Ohio State 11+18=29
3. Florida 18+16=34
4. Michigan 21+26=47
5. Florida State 43+21=64
6. Louisiana State 25+49=74
7. Georgia 44+37=81
8. Auburn 42+47=89
My guess is Gus Malzahn is going to look like a brilliant hire after next season. It could be that AU has a transition year, but they have the players if the offensive and defensive systems fits them.
There are other teams that have good two year combined scores. Notre Dame and Texas are good examples, but there are several more.

As with most outliers, Scout should rightfully be tossed. Based on this reranking above, I am comfortable saying we have a top 3 class. Great work by the staff.

Thanks for your help "wormwood". Virginia Tech looks pretty good, but I didn't carry the rankings out to know the combined scores.

I propose that from now on we refer to that horrible network as "Scout-liar".

For those asking about rankings updates in other threads on the two late signees, I checked this morning. UF didn't get enough to move up and tOSU didn't lose enough to go down. UF finished at consensus #4 in 13 after finishing at consensus #3 in 12.
Before someone says take Scout out, UF remains tied with Ohio State and Notre Dame for 2nd with Scout removed from the scoring even with the two late signees.
I did note that 10-12 is now tied at #10 with Auburn, Florida State, and Georgia having the same consensus scores. Clemson was still a distant #13.

If there are seven classes out there better than ours I'll eat my shorts. Heck, if there are two better classes than Bama's I'll eat my shorts.

Umm eating ones own shorts doesn't impress me.

No matter how much you don't like one poll, you have to average all of them IMO. Unfortunately, one certain stalking nole-troll only uses what he needs. Lets not be like stalking nole-trolls.

BTW, UF did move up to #7 on Scout - lowered UF to a score of 17. aTm held at #6 and LSU dropped to #8.
AU, FSU, and UGALY had the same score of 43.

Me thinks recruiting rankings can be overrated since so many teams recruit based on needs at certain positions. If you recruit half a dozen from one position and sign maybe 22, wouldn't that look so-so in the recruiting rankings?

I understand what you're saying, but if you continue to take Scout out of the equation then maybe they'll get wind of it and fix their broken-a$$ system of rankings.
Probably not but I do think taking them out makes the overall composite rankings less skewed.

But apparently, Scout's ranking doesn't count to certain nolie-trolls.

Scout is oart of Fox Sports and Fox is not into college football as much as ESPN .You can really see this whenever you watch a Fox broadcast of a college game. ESPN spends more time nd money on college sports and has multiple "experts" on which to build an opiion...Fox is second rate as is Rivals.

Couple of thoughts:
1. Looks like Texas A&M joining the SEC has paid off very well for them. When was the last time they beat out Texas (by such a wide margin)? They are going to be a PITA, especially with Johnny Football as QB for the next few years. They could win the SEC in a couple of years.
2. Nice to see USC not in the top ten. Very nice.

In terms of meeting our needs and adding depth and talent, it's hard to see how our class could have been more than marginally better.

I suppose a couple more highly ranked OL and another DE would make me feel better. But I think with the versatility of our DL recruits we probably have a couple that can or will play DE spots. This OL class in its entirety could turn out to be excellent. Hopefully all our LBs will contribute at an SEC level over the next few years. But all in all, after reviewing quite a few other teams it looks like the article is spot on, we have one of the most well rounded classes.

I disregard Scout and 247. For some reason I can't take 247 seriously, at all.
