Was thinking of going to what would be my first gator basketball game! Live in south ga about 1.45hrs away so just a quick drive down. Does anyone know if you can "scalp" tickets pretty cheap before the game?

find tix either in front of the o'dome, or go across the street - off campus - to get them from a 'street vendor' (will be above face value)

Depends on how many you are looking for. I live in gainesville and go to most home games. I don't have season tickets. If you are looking for one ticket, it will be pretty easy to get, even for this game and I doubt you will pay more than $30.
I've never not gotten a ticket. Pretty simple - just go directly to the ODome parking lot and stand outside the main gate and look there. You can walk back and forth in the parking lot as well. My guess is you will find one for face value and I would not settle for anything in level 3. Level 1 or 2 is always available. Just get there about 50 minutes before tip to begin your search.
I have never had to pay more than $30 using this method and 9 times out of 10 I pay face value. Been doing it this way since 2006 season.

Took your advice; Got there no earlier than 20 minutes before the scheduled tip-off. Got a pair of solid, low second level seats for face value. Had a blast.
