Never been and looking to go for a weekend. Any ideas? Places to eat and things to see. Its my wife, myself and a 3 month old along for the ride.

Definitely take a tour of the city from Grey Line or one of the othere outfits first. It will give you an excellent lay of the land, will show you briefly what's there and you can always get recommendations from the person hosting the tour.
Be sure to tour the insides of some of the houses.
I have not been in a while, but all the restaurants we great along the riverfront.
If you are only there for a long weekend, don't do too much. For example, Tybee Island and Ft Pulaski as well as visiting some plantations are very cool, but you won't have the time.
Since this winter has been a warm one, you may luck into the azaleas being in bloom in the squares. When they are, I believe Savannah is the prettiest city around.
I hope you have a backpack or some other means of carrying the baby other than in a cradle. You will be doing a lot of walking. A lot of the streets are cobblestone (made from the ballast of the ships) and a stroller may be quiet bumpy for the baby.
You will really enjoy it.

We've got a baby carrier so it'll get some use! Thanks for the recs! Would you stay in a downtown hotel or somewhere else?

The little guy currently has about a 3 hour car range before he gets cranky.

I would recommend the Hyatt or the Westin. The Westin has a very resorty feel to it and the beds are amazing. It's on an island and faces the Savannah riverfront. The other cool thing is you can jump on a boat and it will take into downtown. I used to travel a lot to Savannah, and really loved the place.

Moon River Brewing company. Great wings and other light offerings, and their brews are pretty good. And the place is reportedly haunted.

The Westin is very nice, but the rates are high. The last two times we went last year we stayed at the Staybridge Suites across the street from the Riverwalk and the prices were much lower than the Marriot or the Westin.

Go to Forsyth Park. Just blocks from the Riverfront it is the quintessential southern/gothic park. Huge, but quaint and historic. Incredibly eclectic and has almost a Central Park feel to it.
Also the "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" house is on the outskirts of the park. And for fun you can look for Forrest Gumps bench located in the park. (Though coming from downtown it will be an easy find.)
And I'm not sure of the cost, but The Mansion on Forsyth Park is the place to stay. Though I would agree that the Westin is cool, (though a short ferry ride to downtown.)

Go to the Pirates House Restaurant if you have a chance, 15 separate dining rooms, pretty cool place.
The original structure was built in 1734 and is the oldest structure in Georgia. Allegedly there was a tunnel from the river to the house used by pirates.
Savannah was not burned during the civil war so if you like old historic buildings you will love it.

Stay at the Ballistone Inn. Lunch at The Mansion. Cemetery Tour of the cemetery in Midnight. Walk along the waterfront (a little cheesy but fun).

Crab Shack on Tybee Island. Great local place with rustic atmosphere. Been there numerous times.

Fort Polaski and the Tybee lighthouse are interesting also.

Watch Bizarre Foods America when he went to Savannah. My son and I watched it tonight. Should be able to find it on Direct or Brighthouse. Some great places to eat.
