Poll About This Forum
Now that the main days of the recruiting season have passed GC is thinking about putting all Gator football in one forum. If we were to do that, then we would move NFL from Swamp Gas so all the Gator talk would be in one forum, along with our college rivalries.
It does not really matter to GC and we can even do the merge for February 7 through the end of football season and then separate them. Just want it as easy as possible for Gator fans to get all there news in ever way is easiest for them.

i like the separate forums.
but i do like for the swamp gas forum [and the insider Den] to be about 'all' gator sports in a general way and not just football. that is, i think the casual gator football fan should be introduced to other gator sports of interest.

The only issues I have ever had with the forums was when every new thread was political in nature. That seems to have abated and hope it stays that way.
No issues or suggestions otherwise.

We actually tipped our toe into that water a few months and the Gators bit it off
So we kept it all football.

FWIW put me down to continue 2 separate forms for football and recruiting. Recruiting is a year round happening now. Gators already have 4 commits for 2014. And at least offer out for 2015.
And SwampGas stays for football only. I know some on SwampGas won't care for the NASCAR or Kentucky Derby or UFC etc threads we post on the Baseball/GAS forum.

On opera mobile w stickies front page becomes VERY short & some decent threads roll off before they are seen. Many never look at pg. 2 or even lower part of pg. 1 as evidenced by 4-5 threads on same dang subject. For that reason only, separate.

Keep them separate.
Allow a way to filter forums on the front page's recent posts as well.

Didn't GC already merge All Sports into the Baseball forum, after it was an epic fail when merged with Swamp Gas? That was without any poll, so my guess is there must be some benefit to GC to merge these forums. So why ask? Why not just merge all of them into one. These are free after all and soon it will be known as GatorNation anyway, right?

I would like to keep it separate, it makes it easier to keep up with, and you don't have to look through three pages of thread to get info.

Keep them separate.
Make Swamp Gas solely for football.
Make the basketball forum solely for men's basketball.
Keep the baseball forum solely for baseball (no softball).
Place all remaining sports including women's basketball and softball in a separate forum.
Follow a similar format on the pay forums.

one of the issues w/ the 'other' sports is traffic on the boards. hence, softball grouped w/ baseball and women's hoops in w/ mens hoops, imo. plus, they are the same/similar sports.
and, my thought or point about allowing a post here and there on swamp gas about the other sports - when there's a big weekend or match/event - is to get that traffic. probably have, what, about 100x more hits on swamp gas than on the 'other' sports forum. what's the data on hits? does GC compile that? i'd be curious to know the traffic on the football forums vs basketball vs baseball vs other.
one thing GC could do is allow or have posts about the 'other' sports - baseball etc - show up on the cover page. seems that's only restricted to football & recruiting. i don't think even active basketball threads make it on the GC cover page. that could help w/ traffic to the other forums.
edit: basketball posts do show up on the front page.

Keep recruiting separate from gas, primarily football.
Keep baseball, softball with all Gator sports.
Add a general all sports forum for other sports talk. Motorsports, soccer, NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA, Golf, fishing, etc.
Add a TEBOW forum.

Like it the way it is.
On separate issue, we subscribe to GC for enjoyment and the forums and articles, etc are great. BUT, I get very annoyed and quit threads when the members insult each other and use a thread to get into some petty bickering. I would like to see more "time outs" for people that do that.

The more specific the forum the better otherwise they will become cluttered to the point that they will be cumbersome to read.

Following football recruiting is quite like following another sport entirely. For that reason and many more, I think it deserves its own forum.

Uh, that is because that is all we could bite off!!!! This board is laid out extremely well. Please leave it as is.
Whoever does the facebook updates:
It would be nice to know if it is women's or men's sport.
" WOMEN'S basketball leads Tennessee 28-22 at the half". Something like that.
