Default Something I noticed about Muschamp

Whenever he talks about the places he coached and people he worked under, is it just me or does it seem like he rarely mentions texas and mack brown. He freely brings up his SEC/NFL experience and talks about working under Saban, but doesnt seem to mention his 2 seasons at ut. I noticed this when reading about his press conference and talking about how he did things/learned under Saban. Anyone else notice this or am I just selectively remembering things?

I dont think he learned much from Mack Brown it was a different relationship. He was working and learning under Saban. Mack brought CWM in to help. Mack is more of a CEO then an XO guy.

Exactly...Mack Brown is nothing more than a salesman.
Reminds me of Rick Perry or some fictional TV character of a Texan.

Auburn and Texas was just field work. It's pretty clear that Saban was the most influential person on young Will's coaching career.

Mack Brown must know things about others at UT or he should have moved on voluntarily or involuntarily years ago.

We have Muschamp and that's all that matters!

Probably because he didn't learn much under Mack Brown. As you can see its really was " Muschamp " that brought those great classes for recruiting in under Brown. Since he left Texas's classes have been getting worse and worse. That's why Brown wanted to keep him there, but glad he didn't stay because we have him now =)

But he missed on "Aquaman" Dre' Kirkpatrick though. UT didn't have enough "Sweater" apparently.

Meyer wasn't the same after his top assistants left either. His last recriting year was not very good in 2009.

The only thing I gather Muschamp learned from Mack was locking up recruits early on in the process. That's something alot of coaches try to do but Texas seems to be most well known for it

The one thing he learned from Texas ..

Always recruit hard early and have most of your class together early in the recruiting season.
Don't hold back and have a big splash at the end.

Meyer's last full recruiting year was 2010, which was widely considered to be one of the best classes of all time.

Wasn't the 2010 class #1 nationally and regarded by a lot of folks in the know as one of the best classes of all time?
