Skyfall "Honest" Trailer. *Spoiler Alert*
I didn't not like this movie. This honest trailer basically sums it up for me. They tried to make Bond artsy. We go to see Bond save the world, not his mother.
Anyway, don't watch unless you've seen the movie.

The world has changed. Old Bond movie formulas don't work any more. Make a traditional Bond movie and you've made something that looks too much like Austin Powers. The new Bond films, at least the first and third ones reflect a much more realistic vision of global threats and a deeper, more mutlti-dimensional picture of James Bond the character.
They may have made Bond artsy. They may have violated a lot of people's idea of what a bond movie should be, but it's the biggest grossing, highest rated Bond movie in history. Die hard, Bond as a suave, tuxedo wearing, womanizing killing machine loving fans should stay home and read Modern Maturity.
FWIW, "artsy" films are doing better at the box office than ever. Much of the great literary talent of our day has gravitated towards collaborating with filmmakers. There are still great books, but if you want to be exposed to the best creative expression of our time, you need to see some of it on the big screen. IMHO, Skyfall is no exception. Ian Fleming would be proud.

Loved the other Daniel Craig Bond flicks but Skyfall was the worst Bond film since anything Roger Moore did.

There was no global threat in this one. It was about someone trying to kill his mom. And the guy who was doing it was pissed about something that happened in the 90s.

For me there is only Sean Connery. He was (A) impossibly cool (B) moved like a cat and (C) introduced to me as a wide-eyed, impressionable eight-year old.

The guy was blowing up London one block at a time. Blew up MI9 HQ. That's not a global threat?

Unless we now have a global government with London as the capital, then no, it wasn't a global threat. It was a Londoner attacking others in London over a personal vendetta, nothing like 9/11.

What was Bond's mom doing? Staying one block ahead of the bomber?
