Revised rest of season predictions?
With Will out and with an SEC team finally taking it to us, what are your predictions?
Miss State- W
Kentucky- W
at Auburn- W
at Missouri- L
Arkansas- W (by A LOT)
at Tennessee- L
Alabama- W
Vanderbilt- W
at Kentucky- L
Finish the regular season 14-4.
I am most worried about playing at Kentucky. After that, at Tennessee scares me the most. I think it is going to be a huge crowd (9 o'clock tip) that is pumped for at op 10 Gator team. I put down an L for at Missouri but think it is really close to a toss up.

we currently stand at 8-1 in the league
Miss State- W
Kentucky- L (tight nailbiter game)
at Auburn- W (tighter game than anticipated)
at Missouri- L (tight game)
Arkansas- W (tight nailbiter game)
at Tennessee- L (tight game)
Alabama- W (tight game)
Vanderbilt- W
at Kentucky- L (tight game)
close the season @ 5-5 for the last 10 games
Finish the regular season 13-5.
we'll get plenty of experience at playing in tight games to close the season. some L's, some W's.

this I think is the absolute worst case scenario
I still think that we can beat Kentucky at home, Mizzou at their place, and at Tennessee
Although, I'll be on the safe side and say we lose one of those. So 7-3 for me!

Thats what I'm thinking, 1 or 2 losses the rest of the way.
Some of you were talking about going undefeated recently, which was probably an overreaction to thumping everyone you'd played so far. Now, after a loss and an injury, I think we're seeing some more overreaction - this time on the negative side. Average the two sets of projections and you're probably closest IMO.

I'll be pulling hard for us every game, but in the long-term, I don't think how many wins we get and what seed we pull down will be as important as whether we get Yeguete back for the NCAA Tourney.
That said - and getting back to the point of the thread - I could see us continuing to hum along through the rest of the SEC slate with only a couple more losses. But, I wouldn't be surprised if bogey's 5-loss prediction comes true also.
We've still got the pieces that have made us a pretty decent offensive team so far. And, we'll continue to be pretty solid on defense.
We'll just have to see how many games where foul trouble bites us and whether any of the bench players can handle some minutes when/if we need them.
And, no, I will not be able to take credit for a correct prediction, no matter what happens

Let's see how Prather and Walker step up tomorrow. Until then, I still say we beat UK at home and UT on the road.

I think we could lose at UK and Mizzou.
The others should be Ws.

Georgia just beat them in Knoxville by eight (though the game was much closer than that) and their point guard Golden has a bad hamstring. For what it is worth.

From my perspective, Yeguete is the single most important player on the team.
All of the 10s are vital elements, but he is simply core, because he can play any of Center, Power Forward or Small Forward very well.
This team has a lot of resiliance and once Prather gets back up to speed (still too early after his injury at Arky for him to play a lot), the team will be tough.
But not, I can see perhaps two or even three possible losses among the final 9 games.

I think he's incredibly valuable, but (odd as it is to say) would much rather lose him than Murphy, Young or Wilbekin.

While not having WY will hurt I don't think it is going to be that big over the rest of the regular season. If the stats I read are correct he averaged 6 pts a game playing 24 minutes average per game and Frazier averages 5 pts playing 17 MPG. Rebounds are 6 for WY to 3 for Frazier. If Prather can get back close to healthy he can make up the scoring as in his 10 games he averaged 7 PPG. While WY is important, if players step up the loss can be overcome just like it was when Prather went out.

WY will be missed for his defense and the intangibles he provided, but I agree that we would be devastated if we lost Murphy's production and Young's low post presence.
Some of our youngsters are going to have to step up to help carry the load in his absence, but I can see that happening.
