Gator Softball starts season tomorrow 2/8
in Tempe, AZ. They play 2 games Friday and Saturday, and 1 on Sunday.
I guess some of the team can say hello to former teammate Cheyenne Coyle while they are out there at Arizona State. UF won't be playing the Sun Devils, however.

playing creighton at 4 and oregon at 7 fri
then, on saturday, cal state northridge at 2 and cal at 7pm
should get a reasonable feel for the season from that lineup of teams....
who are some of the gator players to watch?
new faces at SS, CF and catcher? where else?

New face at 3B (at least that is where she played in the fall). The transfer from N. Illinois Stephanie Tofft. Pretty good hitter average-wise. Hit .434 and .379 in her 2 years at N. Illinois.
The #1 and #2 catchers (Munro and Fuller) will be Freshman. Horton has been moved back to the OF. Should be interesting with the veteran pitchers.
Going to be a very young and inexperienced team this season built on speed, situational hitting, and defense.

In the video Coach Walton spoke of being set at the lead off position batting. Who was he referring to?

My guess is either the CF Freshman Kirsti Merritt or 2B Freshman Kelsey Stewart.
