Will Yeguete Done For Regular Season
Will have knee surgery which will put him out for 4-6 weeks. He will be re-evaluated at the end of the regular season and there is a chance he could be back for the SEC/NCAA tournament.
As far as players to help fill-in for Yeguete, Donovan mentioned freshman DeVon Walker, but said "I don't know if he's ready. We don't really have a choice right now."

yep this is what I had heard last night when I posted. I also heard that that timeline is optimistic at best.

I was wondering about him. Is he still in class this semester? Maybe the prospect of playing time would entice him to try to come back. I realize he's probably not in basketball shape and out of practice, but any size would help.
What about Jacob Kurtz maybe? I know he's not as physically gifted as Walker, but he seems like he knows the system a little better at this point. Not nearly as high of a ceiling but possibly a higher floor right now?

I'm sure he's perfectly capable of being on the floors 10 minutes a game, but how well he'll perform is the question.

I was thinking the same thing about Larson. Can we convince him to come back? We need a big body, even for 10 minutes.

Sorry to hear this and man what bad luck for this guy. Sorry to hear it. You guys realize this more than I do for sure, but he's worth more than his 20 minutes a game and 6pts 6rebs.

Terrible news for Yeguete. He is such a good kid and a great competitor. This season is giving me shades of 2000-01 in terms of team health.
But this team will still supersede expectations for us coming into the season, even without Yeguete.

Really sorry to hear about Will. I was just beginning to really, really appreciate his accomplishments on the court and I hate it for him as a really good young man. I can so sympathize with him wiht the injuries. Truly sorry to hear this for the young man. I do hope everything comes out right for him. I believe good people deserve the best and sure seems to be one of'em.

Man, this is terrible for Yeguete, hope he gets better as soon as possible. However, for evrybody predicting gloom and doom, nobody had us even close to the final four last season, and we know how close we got. Walker and Graham, it's your turn to step up.

If its arthroscopic then there is a very good chance he could have a great and speedy recovery. I'm actually a physician. Swelling is minimal and he can keep his conditioning up with other techniques. Not to question you bullis unless you know something we don't.

How could he? 4-6 weeks and then he has to get back into game shape. He's done for the year unfortunately.
