A Vol summarizes NSD
Today reminds me of Christmas 1992 (Posted on 2/6/13 at 12:37 p.m.)
All I wanted was a Sega Genesis or a Super Nintendo. I wrote letters to
Santa. Begged my parents. Did extra chores, etc. There were hints and
rumors that all my patience would finally pay off.
And the Christmas morning comes, and what do I get? frickING CLOTHES.
All the other kids in the neighborhood got a Sega or an SNES. Auburn, Ole
Miss, UGA, the New kid A&M. The rich kids Bama, UF, LSU. Even the
wierd foreign kid that nobody liked, Vanderbilt, got what they wanted.
But not the kid who's parents drank too much and ran up credit card
debt, UT. We got frickING SOCKS.
I know I should be grateful We received anything. But frick Christmas and frick today.

Wow! Has anybody checked on that hillbilly's older brother and sister (a/k/a his parents) to see if he filled them full of buckshot and buried them in their back yard? Derek Dooley and the new guy better sleep with one eye open.

Poor UT. I can't glory in that too much... they have been our goat more than our enemy. In important years of our program they have been the New Jersey Generals to our Harlem Globe Trotters. I would rather see Bama fall on hard times than UT. I will say that I consistently said on this site and in other places, that they were idiots to shit-can Fulmer. Idiots! Now they see. Fulmer was a great coach for them. They worried about him being too conservative on one or two play calls to win the SEC or NC and now they are a bottom dweller who isn't even in that conversation. Fact is that UT sits in a state with little population, wealth or football talent... surrounded by mega-powers that have all those things in the vicious SEC. With Fulmer they were up with UF, etc. Now they are nothing. Bring back Phil guys. Bring back fundamental football. I almost miss ya'll

Wow, sorry, but that is one sad class Tenn pulled together. Of 22, 5 ranked below 150th at their position, 2 more below 100th, a 2 star and 3 star JUCO, 78th and 59th ranked DEs. That's 11 of 22 players you wouldn't honestly expect to be competitive. The other 11 there are four 4 star players, seven 3 stars.
Their class last season was better but only ranked 25th. This should sting for a while.

Get ready to be the second best in your own state and not in the SEC conversation as I said above.

That's great. The sad thing is that Vandy actually signed a better class than UT.

I've always wondered how teams like Minnesota go from an absolute powerhouse in the 30s and 40s, to absolute bottom dwellers thereafter. I kinda feel like we might be in the midst of seeing that happen with Tennessee. The got passed by USCe a while ago, now they're being passed by Vandy. If Stoops shows up big at UK... it's going to be another long decade for the Vols.

Washington Generals. New Jersey Generals were Herschel and Doug Flutie's team, owned by the bastard Donald Trump, the reason we've got no football games to talk about for eight months.
But, no, I'm not bitter. Not at all.

fulmer got fired when he started losing a bunch of games--he used to be "great" but he lost it, including a loss in 08 to lowly wyoming at home that sealed the deal. UT's mistake was letting the moron AD hamilton hire kiffin and dooley--two busts.

Glad Phat Phil is gone...his teams scared me more than once.
But even happier that Kiffy is gone...he could have made us miserable forever.

Yes. If not for Trump Spurrier and Bandit Ball might be celebrating a 30th title! Of course, on that note, the demise of the USFL may be what indirectly led to the golden age of Gator football.

That's what they get for having Hart as their AD.
Replace him with Fulmer and UT's program will get set back on the right path.
