February 23, 2007- (15-13) LSU 66 (25-4) Florida 56
6:39 left in the first half it was LSU 28 Florida 13
5:03 left in the game it was LSU 52 Florida 35
Final of LSU 66 Florida 56
These fluky games happen. How many times is our defensive strategy give them the long two, don't jump, just put a hand in their face, and they miss? Yet tonight they made them.
I'll get concerned when we have to play at Michigan in the NCAA tournament instead of a neutral court.
Arkansas isn't amazing, but they are great at home.

That particular game still gets my goat.
It was a beach weekend at the beach for me and my family and in-laws and I just went to bed afterwards never to be seen again that day.

Lack of front court depth scares me...that team woke up next day and had Horford, Noah and Richard

It's definitely a weakness. It's the main reason that I felt that Elite 8 was as far as we would go this year. Now, to be fair, we have outperformed my expectations to date (even with tonight's loss). Also, looking at the rest of the Top 10, each team has specific issues that could cost them too.
However, it's absolutely critical in our tough matchups that Murph, Patric and Will stay out of foul trouble. Patric, for the most part, has done a great job being able to be aggressive and not spending a lot of time on the bench. His shot blocks are up, fouls are down and I think our good perimeter defense has helped keep him from having to put a body on someone in a position of weakness.

In regards to fouls, we have actually done a very good job all year avoiding foul trouble...I think we are top 10 in the nation, only fouling an average of 14 times a game..

I was at a friends wedding that day... Running to the car to listen to the game. I blamed him for his idiotic timing.

I think once Prather gets back up to speed (he has missed quite a few games and more importantly practices due to the sprain), our big guy play will get better. I know most people don't consider Prather a "big," but he has done his best work at the 4.
Obviously big men depth can be an issue, but I don't think there are very many teams out there that have a better big men rotation than us. Teams that have more big guys probably don't have as many quality big guys like the Murphy and Young combo.

Even Wilbon said on Pardon the Interruption that this loss could end up helping Gators in the long run.

This loss was needed. I saw it coming the moment we got the #2 ranking. If will stays healthy, we will have a great chance to go deep in the tournament.

GatorCountry is the best Gator Sports board, and also the most conservative.
