Not really. Arkansas was probably the best choice for him in terms of making an immediate impact. Plus, the new coaches at Arkansas were recruiting hard at Wisconsin before they got to the University of Arkansas. The only real suspense was whether or not he would bolt and leave the state for Arkansas, a team he obviously really likes, or stay home and attend Miami.

This was a Wisconsin coach closing on a recruit deal.
Still more surprised that their coach left Wisconsin to go to Arkansas. I know it's the SEC and all, but he was hand picked by Alvarez as his replacement and could have coached their for an entire career without much in the way of serious expectations.

True. A lot of coaches are all about the challenge though. He'll certainly have that at Arkansas.

NSD is setting up to be a complete disaster for scUM. They thought they had Collins in the bag when he was dancing with the IBIS at the canes/duke hoops game 2 weeks ago. He played Miami perfectly. Collins spurning them combined with the booker T fiasco, Miami is going to be a major loser on NSD. So far only 2 kids from S. fla are currently in this class, and that's not sitting to well with the natives. Major coup for Arkansas.

Have you ever lived in Wisconsin, dreary six/seven months of the year. This coach left to get out of the weather. Arkansas is culture shock, if you have ever been through Arkansas and driven to Fayetteville you know a player from Florida going there will have to have frequent flyer miles to keep his mind. LOL

He's also done well-- he's arguably the best young coach in the SEC on paper (depending on how one rates the Big 10)-- 3 straight conference titles and all.

I dont know anything about the Booker T kid, but I do know it is an inner city school that has been a pipeline for talented players going to UM for a long time. Doesnt seem too smart of Golden to pi$$ off their head coach. Also, wont help with other high school coaches in the area. Unfortunately, any Cane loss could be a Seminole gain in this instance.
