Florida No. 2 in latest Coaches Poll
Jumped up two spots over the weekend. Received six first-place votes.

Well deserved. I hope they continue to work hard.
As many have said, the fact that we are winning, yet continue to have areas that are apparent we need to improve on is great motivation for an already outstanding team. Billy always has things to go back to on tape to humble these guys.
We are very, very good, with the potential to improve on our biggest flaws and become ridiculously good, possibly even great.

Gators are also ranked No. 2 in the AP poll, No. 3 in the RPI.

Like Billy says,"live in the moment". Great news. I'm really proud of this team.
As easy as it is to get caught up in all the final four discussion, I'm just going to enjoy watching them play one game at a time.

#2 means nothing right now. Just remember USF was #2 in football one year.
I'm just happy we have a team that will compete and should have a great chance to win some championships! Billy and Co. are doing a phenomenal job!!!

Florida is #2 in both polls with multiple first-place votes. No team other than Indiana or Florida is receiving first-place votes. We have the #3 RPI and the #1 BPI (by 1.8 points). Our two losses are against teams ranked inside the top 13. We are winning conference games by an average margin of 26.5 points (if I did the math right; if not, please correct me).
Why, then, is ESPN's current NCAA hoops poll question asking who the best team in college basketball is with only Indiana, Kansas, and Michigan as answer choices? I don't expect Florida to be the outright favorite, but the fact that we are not even an option disgusts me.

Exactly. I recall Donovan being interviewed prior to the 2007 Final Four and when asked what about the coming weekend, his response was, "I am sad this might be over because I will miss coaching these kids." As fans, those two years were so fleeting, filled with tons of hand wringing over the losses, the rotation, the bench, the coaching, etc., that you could almost overlook the quality of the team on the court and how much they came to play each game.
The same is true for this squad. They are too enjoyable to watch to obsess over seeding, polls, and the tournament.

Progress up the polls is reflective of progress for the team so I like it. Also gives the program some pub so that is good too. But it does not airmail the NC to us or so I here.
Got to stay hungry and smart.

How can they leave out Duke, Miami, Syracuse, Arizona and Florida, none of whom have more than 3 losses, since it appears that the number of losses determines their candidates?
For Florida and Arizona, one can argue that it's because the SEC and Pac 12 look weak, but that argument shouldn't hold for the ACC and the Big East.
It appears to be nothing other than a midwest bias, since all of those teams are midwestern Conference teams.

Which both? Gators have been to four of them.
