Lights out at Super Bowl.
I thought that it was pretty pathetic when the ligths went out during the most watched event probably in the world. The NFL has told Miami that they need to do huge upgrades to host the Super Bowl down here but I pretty much assure you the lights would not have gone off last night and the weather was perfect for football.

It's all Beyonce's fault. She took up too much electrical power for the halftime show.
I actually heard someone say that on the 11 PM news last night.

Meh. Stuff like this happens. The city, stadium, whatever, that never has an issue can toot their horns about it. That list is just about zero.

I'm from New Orleans and I'm freakin embarrassed. Over 30 minutes of downtime for the biggest sporting event in America. Way to go, big easy.

I guess on another somewhat related note - the delay probably made it a better game with the Niners coming back afterwards.

Did you have some place to be? Electricity can be a fickle, unpredictable thing, even under the most controlled environments.

True, but the sprinklers might have gone off in the middle of the game.

Is Lane Kiffin a 49ers fan? He may have had something to do with it.

I just saw that Boomer Esiason said that he was told that the Beyonce rehearsals had blown the power twice during the week and that immediately after the concert they could hear a humming sound coming from the ceiling right before the power went out.

Not to mention, you'd have to spend the week in Douchville USA. Oh, and ESPN/CBS/Rest of Networks, When you go to the crew in ProPlayer/Landshark/Whatever Stadium, you are going to Davie, NOT South Beach. It's closer to friggin Fort Lauderdale beach than South Beach. Hillarious. Notice how every shot of Miami you see on TV is of parts east of I-95.
Ever wonder why that is?
If you've been there, you wouldn't.

Everything in New Orleans blacks out from time to time. The Super Dome is obviously not above this law..

Too bad it didn't happen during the Sugar Bowl. We could have gotten out of town under the cloak of darkness.
