I beg to differ! I live in Cary, NC (mashed in between Raleigh and Chapel Hill) and I really do like the area. HOWEVER, every Saturday in the fall is a incredibly frustrating experience. The ACC game of the week is aired on CBS at 12:30pm ET. Inevitably, that game runs long, so when the real football starts on CBS at 3:30PM ET, I'm stuck watching the last quarter of the Duke/Wake Forest game. I cannot tell you how many times I have missed the first quarter of Gator football games because the ACC game ran long.
Ugggg. Other than that, beautiful place to live!

Congratulations. I'm sure your daughter will be very happy there. We visited UNC last summer with my son, I really liked the campus a lot. My son ended up not applying there anyway, much to my surprise. We're hoping to hear from UF in a couple of weeks to see if he's accepted. He applied to Duke but it will be some time before we hear from them. Duke's campus was awesome too, of course, but I found UNC more appealing.

Congrats. Something to be proud of.
I think my nephew is going as well. Make sure she stays away from him.

I love UF but a degree from UNC is quite the accomplishment.

I know. Texted her Saturday night while NCSU was drilling UNC and asked her the same question.

My youngest graduated from UNC last spring. She went on to a PHD program and all the schools she applied to were very positive about her UNC education, she is at at UC Davis now. Only one child out of 4 went to UF. All remained very loyal to Florida. It made bowl games more exciting to root for UVa, UNC, Liberty and THE GATORS. Your daughter made a great choice. Congrats, you should be proud!

Anyone else here with a kid at UNC?

Congrats! I went to UNC for grad school. I definitely understand her falling in love with Chapel Hill. It's a special, special place. I get back there whenever I can.
Let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you. I don't know too much about dorms and the like (went to the great University of Florida for undergrad), but I can field any general questions you might have about the city/area.

I agree with the other posters giving props to UNC.
It's always been highly ranked and it's beautiful up there.
