Jere Morehead, their current Provost. Grew up in Lakeland. I wonder if his family has Gator connections:

I am not familiar with him and so far I have not seen anything about him in the local newspaper, The Lakeland Ledger

Apparently he was 16 about 1973 or so when his family moved from Lakeland to Atlanta.

If I hear anything about him here locally, I'll post it.

Hmm, He could have been in school when either my sister or I was in Lakeland. I wonder what schools he went to there.

If he went to a public high school it could have been Lakeland High School or Kathleen High School. I'm not sure if Lake Gibson High School was in existence in the early 1970s or not. Of course there are other public high schools now in Lakeland but they didn't exist back then. Also Santa Fe Catholic School has been around for a very long time.

Very cool. I'm from Lakeland, so it's always great to see Lakelanders doing big things!
