I will never stop talking about hating the cats in threads that have to do with them. Especially since we have so many of their fans here.

some of our cats fans here are knowledgable, respectful basketball fans.

Well.... That Achilles ruptured tonite. Horrible offensive discipline and shot selection, and a resulting abysmal fg percentage.

yes sir
and so much of that had to do with finally being matched to out-classed in the athleticism department.
their first real test (Mizzou is a clown shoe) and at home.....epic fail

I'm not a fan of UK, just ask BEH (who I have on ignore), but I have no problem with our two respectful guests who engage us in a fair and respectful manner.
I have no patience for someone who demeans our program or our student athletes, whether they consider themselves a Gator or a fan or alum of another school.

Kentucky is now getting better, playing together for the sum of the whole team. They may not look great to Florida Fans, but to me they are going to give us some tough Kat Fights. Hopefully we can slow them down and hit our shots. I kind of feel anybody driving to the hoop for the Gators will meet up with Mr. Noel. So, will we sweep them, no. Can we beat them yes. But, It will have to be with great defense and making our shots.
The Kats are gaining mo while we are consistent. Since we always play into the hands of Cals babies, we play them late and let them get it together before we play them. To me I am worried we have peaked since we play little bench. The Cats are getting it together. We will have a hard time just getting a split.
I don't know who makes our schedule, but it doesn't help us. Here's hoping we do the little things that make it tough for the Kats. I don't want another sweep!

yeah wildcats are getting better and better. they are talented or have some talent, just lacking that cohesiveness. but it's an annual struggle for them, now, and calipari. he's starting to get the recipe down though now, after so many years. knows what he has to do to get an annual crop of new players to play together. this year he lacks the players that have been in the system for a while, that could help in communicating the necessary steps involved to play as a team, etc. so it's taking a while. by the time they face us, they'll be at their season' best. they should be humming on all cylinders when the sec-tourney rolls around. perfect time to peak.

A hard time getting a split? We will be deseredly favorites in both games and thus favorites to win at least 1. Im not saying we will sweep them but acting like we are severe underdogs to win just 1 is laughable.

Noel is a one trick pony. He can't score. Let him stand in front of the rim all night and our snipers will torch him from the outside. Patrick will throw that toothpick around a bit. This is the year we crush Cal and his babies, especially at home.

Yes, a conference championship obviously affects this. The post I originally responded to said winning the SEC regular championship by a larger margin of games AKA other teams losing more rather than us winning more would help in the seeding. He was saying the more losses Ole Miss piles up the better because they are our competition. I disagree for seeding purposes.
Say we win the SEC with one conference loss. The committee wont seed more favorably if the second place team has significantly more losses than us. Miss coming in second with 5 losses does not improve our stock any more than them having 2 - in fact I would say it hurts more than helps.

Safe to say the schedule is dictated by television moguls, espn and cbs. Just like north carolina and duke who also play both of their reg season games late, tv folks want the best rivalries in feb and march, once football is over and sports fans are tuned.

if we go 17 - 1 in conference and make it to the tournament title game we are getting a one. it won't matter how many losses anyone else has.

Noel will have a hart time swatting shots if he is recovering from ball screens beyond twenty feet or following Murphy out on the perimeter. Whether they have Wiltjer or Poythress at the four when we play them, I suspect we go small pretty often and keep him away from the basket.
The struggles they had were not going to last. Just too much talent, especially in a down year for the league. But they still don't fit together well. No point guard, no scoring presence in the paint, no depth behind Noel, and only one efficient shooter in Wiltjer. We can definitely sweep them if we play our game defensively and just play smart offensively. Not sure if we will because in a single game situation anything can happen, especially on the road in our league, but I wouldn't read too much into this game. Ole Miss may just not be any good.

That was a god-awful game last night, both teams looked awful although Ole Miss does have some nice inside presence. I don't think Noel caught the ball in the post once. He never has an opportunity to do anything on the offensive end and for such a great leaper he didn't rebound very well, great shot blocker though, And that Marshall Henderson is nowhere near SEC POY, he wouldn't even be sixth man for us. and he is not even the best player on his own team

The only problem I have with UK is their home-town refs in Rupp. I usually root for UK otherwise, and I had a feeling the 'Cats were going to beat 'Ole Miss last night because I think they were overrated anyway.
You can see UK just had a clear talent edge over the Rebels and they couldn't handle it last night either, especially in the paint.
