it's a good start to winning the headlines again. they brought this up the other day on Mike and Mike (I think) we're 5 days away from the super bowl and here we are talking about the jets because ot their drama. I hope they sign him.
What a pathetic headline grabbing joke of an organization.

As a Phins fan...I found this news delicious. (Not for Tim)
...but I can only dream that the Jets somehow pin their hopes on Russell.

Apparently, Russell has straightened out his act and is making a comeback. I don't think anyone ever questioned his physical skills. His problems were all in his head. We'll see what happens.

Russell is terrible and one of the biggest NFL busts. Hasn't played since 2009. He has a strong arm but is inaccurate. The Jets don't have a clue if they're entertaining the thought of bringing him back.
At least Tebow lead his team to the playoffs.

Probably smart, actually, for a few reasons:
1. Jamarcus will be had for pennies on the dollar. He will undoubtedly make the league minimum if he's picked up.
2. If he is indeed a 2nd or 3rd stringer, he will at least fit in with their offense skill-set-wise. Tebow would flourish best with an offense devoted to his (and similar QBs') talents.

Tim Tebow made just shy of $2MM to sit on the bench, with little intent to actually use him.
I believe Russell would be requalified as a rookie for salary, but even if not we're talking $375K -> $500K in salary.
If I'm going to have someone sit on the bench, might as well pay him 25% what I was paying the other guy.

Russell's claim to fame is throwing a football 83 yards...but struggles making accurate timing passes.

How has he fixed his mental issues?

One of the stories I read said he had lost a whole 12 pounds from his peak of 320, so I would guess not.

Jamarcus Russel, this will make the Jets fanbase happy! I was conflicted when TT went there, now I can go back to despising the Jets and their fanbase.
