True, but it's a fictional helmet nobody has ever said we should use, but it certainly is a lot better looking then the one in the 1st post
I like the logo, it's a logo we should never have gotten rid of.

One thing I like about our helmets, is that they are easily visible downfield to our QB. When you add multiple colors, like this, and we're playing a team with, say, blue helmets, it just makes that target a touch more difficult to spot.
So I'd stick with what we have.
Plus, they do look classic.

I'm assuming because we don't want to be confused with Cal State Fullerton. You know, because when you see a Block F, that's clearly the first university you think of. . .

This was always the most perplexing part to me.
If you're going to "update" something, shouldn't it be to something current? The 80s death metal font has never really enjoyed a comeback stylistically ... I have a feeling in a decade or so we'll wonder why we were using a Halloween font on all of our stuff.
The script (and the block script "college" font) are - to a large degree - timeless due to their associations with college football. Our current font is associated with early Megadeth albums and straight-to-DVD horror movies.

The larger numbers are really a small change and are what we had before so I like that.

Keep our present helmet design!
It has a 30 year history of being recognizable by fans, high school players, etc.
Keep the logo! It has BRAND RECOGNITION!!!
If we wind up changing or tweaking somethng... then add more sizzle to the orange.
Make it a deeper, bolder orange with more contrast!
That is why Auburn's colors of Burnt Orange and Navy look so good. They contrast better when they use white in their jerseys and helmets.
When anyone adds white to their scheme... it always makes things pop. Look at Georgia's colors. They look awful when red and black are next to each other. Add a stripe of white and it zings. (Same thing with silver.)
If one wants to make an impact... visually. Then one has to have contrast.
Sure, I like our Royal Blue also. I am not saying we should change to Auburn's Navy Blue... but we can always deepen the Orange a bit. Or...add more metal flake to it.
Why?
Blue, being a darker color will always constrast better with white.
Florida's present day orange does not contrast as well as our Royal Blue does. Deepen the orange just a bit... and you get a better contrast.
The Athletic Department learned this about 14 years ago. I spoke to the head guy over there and he informed me that our helmets used to have that, "Sunkist Orange" look to it. There was too much white in the helmets and they looked bland and milky... washed out. They deepen the orange and started adding blue metal flake to it. Much better improvement.

That was the logo when I was going to school there and I always liked it.
I wouldn't mind our current Gator Head Logo being on the helmet.
I also wouldn't mind a blue helmet when we wore Orange Jersies.

Best UF uniforms ever---a slightly larger block F would be good.

Incorrect sir, look closer... it is the new font. The curve on the bottom might make it less noticable, but it's definitly the new font.
I will say this, I like this helmet more than the white's worn during FSU and Bama games in 09.

It's not. The easiest way to tell is the F is not the same size. In the old font , the F was larger than the rest. Also you can barely make out the Gators on the nose number, which has the old G with the tooth looking thing on the bottom.

I want the Gators to change their helmet and jerseys back to the 2006 season game against Alabama where they wore the retro 1966 gear. Looked great with the white helmets and blue F (the non-italicized one like the pic above).
I think the size of the F shouldn't be larger than that one imo.

I'm down with this helmet, but ditch the UF on the side. Its too Kentucky for me. Also ditch the stripe on the facemask. I say leave the normal "Gators" on the side or put an "F" in killer font on the side.
