No doubt the Jags should take Tebow and dump the jerk, Lewis!

Another jag I don't like, awesome. (MJD) and I use to be a season ticket holder. I miss the slim, yet awesome years..... Brunell (lefty) and Freddie T., crushing Dan Marino... Etc.
I feel like we're the Vandy of the NFL. Lol here's to making a come
-back....! Go Jags! lol

Plenty of the criticism of Tebow are fair, but when people start with, he's awful, he's the worst, he can't throw, etc. I zone out as you just don't want to have a serious conversation.

This.
The Jags are my default hometown team and I do my best to support them (though my Gators come first)--but I have to admit, it's hard given the fact that 90% of the team's players are grade-A douchebags who think they've "made it" in the NFL simply because they're starting on one of the worst teams in the league.
The only reason Lewis is paid as much as he is--is solely due to the fact Gene Smith was easily the WORST GM in recent NFL history...not because of any skill on Lewis' part. As you said, the bigger "project" is investing in Lewis, not Tebow.
Honestly, the Jags' front office deserves all the ridicule they get for not embracing Tebow as a part of their roster. If there's ONE thing that would energize and create a buzz about the fanbase, it'd be to get Tebow on the team. How many church-going Christians who have little to no connection to the NFL, but have suddenly become interested solely due to Tebow have shelled out $$ to buy Broncos--and Jets gear? How much of that pie could have been going to the Jaguars' instead?? When they desperately needed it?!

I found it hilarious that a guy literally on my fantasy football do not ever pick up for any reason list comes out and trashes Tebow.
Hey Marcedes, you suck and your mother obviously can't spell....it's Mercedes.
What a dumb ass.

Oh the irony.

I've often wondered why doctors or nurses or whoever records birth info at hospitals don't point out to a parent the correct spelling of the newborn's name (e.g. it's Mercedes not Marcedes, Isaiah not Isiah, Antoine not Antwan), in case the parent might want to know and for the good of the child. Does anyone know?
It must be a pain to go through life having to give people your name and having to "correct" them when they spell it correctly.
Seems to me like such advice would be a matter of courtesy. But apparently instead of being helped out, a newborn's parent is simply asked, "How do you want it spelled?" If the parent says "Correctly," then the doctor or nurse writes down the name as "Correctly" (if he or she can spell it).

I though misspelling of names was intentional in some cases. Like a statement of not conforming to white society's norms. Probly a Too Hot type of comment, but no harm intended.

You guys are overreacting even more than the media would. Lewis, weather an idiot or not has the right to his opinion, if he doesn't want Tebow on his team, he can say that, it's his right. I'm sure he's not the only one, I think some other Jaguar said something similar a couple years ago. Plus lets be real, is Tebow even going to help them at all, besides in ticket and merchandise sales? No. That team is more than a QB away.

Cut him some slack ....
If you had a girly name and mediocre stats you'd be grumpy too.

No story here. He's entitled to his opinion.
I hope Timmy proves him wrong.

That has occurred to me, but I fail to see how intentionally misspelling, for example, a biblical Hebrew name (Isaiah) is not conforming to white society's norms.

Lewis is a nobody and who cares what he thinks? Really....does his opinion matter to anyone except maybe his Mama's? The Jags may well be the worst team in Pro football and I hope Tebow doesn't get stuck in that dumpster fire anyway...

Sure it's his right. And we have the right to "overreact" as you suggest a lot of us are doing. I think he's a total a$$clown trying to get some attention. Imo getting Tebow would go along way to getting the Jags back on track, getting some positive energy into the franchise. Let's be real as you like to say, whatever they've been doing has been a total disaster. Cutting Marcedes or whatever his name is, would be another step in the right direction.
