Wow that helmet is hideous.
That said, it's clearly just a promo job. The blue eyeshield would be illegal under NCAA rules.

Our helmats are awful and are dated with that 80's font, before people knew what font was. Timeless would be the letter-men "F" in the same font as everything else UF uses on every uniform for every sport. I am fine with the "UF" or "GATORS" in the same font as the end zone.

You realize we replaced the block F with the crappy slanted F in all sports, right?

The Gator script has the excuse of being dated because we came up with it decades ago. What's the excuse for that hideous wedge serif italics font?

Our helmets are golden the way they are. If they change the helmets it will be a travesty.

I wish UF would hire some pro design people and get a new helmet---that 1980s script thing is way out of date

The opening helmet joke...er, I mean photo looks like some warped nightmare of a confused equipment mgr who can't decide between UCF and Florida--so he mixed the two and came up with this solid piece of steaming vomit.
And why the same excuse EVERY time a uni thread comes up about script Gators being dated?? Simply because it originated in the 80's? Michigan's helmet design has been around in its essential form since 1938!! Not that it means much or matters, but it is likely THE most recognized helmet in college football....along with Texas, Ohio State, even the overly simple, yet ugly forms of Alabama and Penn St.....and add to that list--FLORIDA! Out helmet--in its 'dated' form--is one of the top most recognized helmets in college football right up there with all the other 'elite' schools.
Sorry, but if the branding works--you don't screw up a good thing. Perhaps you would prefer--Oregon? Theirs USED to be somewhat recognizeable, until they starting changing the damn thing on a weekly basis. Ours works--has worked for a long time--and still works in the grand scheme of branding. UAA is not stupid and will continue to put out a product which brings recognition, consistency, and yes--money, to the school. Regardless of how fashion minded or the level of chic awareness some of the fan base thrives upon.
Thank God.

I couldn't agree more. I'd love those to be our regular uni's.
