It's my understanding that LB James Hearns has withdrawn his commitment to UF.

But I believe the athletes who have not had qualifying scores at UF, have almost always had to look at schools outside the SEC.
No. There is a difference in athletes, too. This is patently the case. And has been since at least the 1960's.

I'm very thankful for this. We win alot of championships with these standards.

So exactly what are the differences?

I don't ever recall an athlete who couldn't qualify at UF being accepted at UGA or FSU. I know there were several that went to WVU or schools out of conference. And I recall several who became sign-and-place with Ole Miss or Auburn. The only times I recall a player that didn't qualify at UF going to another SEC school were because UF admissions wouldn't count a course taken or something like that.

Well, let's just sit back and watch who tries to pick this kid up, and how.

If it is another SEC school, that will give us some information, unless no other SEC is interested. The schools formerly showing interest were: Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami (Fl), Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Florida.

You only have to go as far back as last year... Dante Phillips was committed to Florida couldn't get in and then went to Tennessee.

To get into UF as either an athlete or regular student you have to pass Alg. II. I don't know about A&M or MIssouri but UF and Vandy might be the only schools this applys to.

And FWIW it is now my understanding that LB James Hearns is a Kentucky commitment.

That is all. Carry on.

UGA is very close to UF academically. They may pass us soon, or more accurately, we may drop below them. Their math requirements may not be as stringent as UF, but only because they're other flagship school has tougher math requirements than UF.

Texas A&M is probably UF's equal academically and likely has similar or even more stringent math requirements because of the technical orientation of the school.

Missouri is a fine school, but their admissions profile is not impressive. That's a school that might start snatching up some of the prospects who are borderline with academics. I'd still send my own kid there before I'd send them to Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, Miss State or Tennessee.
