Guide to Winter/Spring "Gator Sports Weekends" for you football fans
okay, you gator football fans...time to diversify: check out some other gator sports!
since i live 5+ hours from g'ville, i tend to pick weekends w/ multiple games that i can attend (baseball is a perfect fit for that). here's some weekends to consider coming into town and catch several different gator sports
Jan 19th/20th: a double header of gator hoops teams taking on ranked teams. Saturday, Gator men face Missouri at 2pm then on sunday, the gator women host a ranked south carolina squad. come up/down for the BIG gator/tiger game, then stay over - nothing wrong w/ an evening out out the town too - and catch the women in action on suday. also, on saturday, mens' tennis face miami at noon! always fun to heckle the canes in any sport!
Feb 2nd/3rd: another 'doubleheader' weekend for gator hoops. men in action hosting ole miss 7 pm saturday, and women host bama on sunday at 1 pm. plus a tennis 'double header' too! women host baylor at 1 pm saturday, men take on furman at noon, sunday.
Feb 16th/17th: baseball and softball get started. gators take on duke in baseball and savanah state/UNC-Wilmington in softball. {first games on friday} 2 pm saturday softball, 4 pm for baseball. then noon sunday start for baseball. there's also women's hoops 1 pm sunday. and 11:15 softball game vs UNC-Wilmington.
Feb 23rd/24th: get your saturday started w/ men's tennis at 1 pm vs baylor (big match) then there's baseball vs FGCU at 4 pm and cap it off w/ a mens hoops game at 7 pm (hosting the hogs). on sunday, check out a lacrosse game at noon or women's tennis (stanford in town! BIG!) and baseball at 1 pm
March 2nd/3rd: saturday is another full slate - gator men hoops vs bama at noon or softball doubleheader vs drake at noon & Famu at 2:15 and then catch the gators vs miami on the diamond at 4 pm (big!). sunday, men's tennis vs texas a&m at 1 pm or the baseball game vs miami.
next few weekends in march - we'll be busy w/ ncaa hoops tourneys
in march / april, check out the composite schedules to catch men/women in action on the tennis courts, or a lacrosse match or a gator softball / baseball game

probably can add a weekend in april for the orange & blue game. love to come up for that weekend and take in a couple baseball games + whatever else is going on. hopefully the UAA is wise and tries to stagger start times during that weekend and there's baseball, softball, lacrosse, some tennis, etc for the gator football fan to also sample.

I think we also have a track team. I'm pretty sure there are at least a couple of home meets.
I also believe they are a fairly decent team. Lol.
A strong team for the women.
And the men are the 3 time reigning and defending national champions indoor and the reigning and defending national outdoor champions.

Lol
I have not looked closely at the schedule. There may only be weekday meets at home. I will have to check sometime.
I know the SEC outdoor is in Columbia this year. That will be a major preview of Eugene and the NCAA.

I'm down as I want to take my son. This would actually be his first Gators baseball game. I've met a few posters during football season but it'd be neat to meet some more for baseball season. If you have a son my boy is 8 and we enjoy meeting some of the posters here.

good to take on the philosophy of 'adopting' another gator sport and support it on the boards, in the stands, and financially too. pick a gator sport - make an effort to attend a game or match or event this winter/spring.
on my list - attend at least one woman's BB game
see a lacrosse match at Dizney
check out a mens and or women's tennis match at ring. they re-did the facilities there (indoor only?), want to check that out too.
gator baseball, of course. at least 2 home series'. and ncaa's?
have yet to attend a softball game live either - want to do that.
what's on your list? have you adopted a different gator sport yet? which one? or which would you like to?

this weekend is a good one:
mens tennis at noon saturday vs miami
Gator men BB host Missouri in a BIG matchup on the hardwood at 2
Gator women BB host ranked s. Carolina on sunday.
anyone gonna try to do the tri-fecta?[will have to cut the tennis a bit short]

How about Gator gymnastics? They have a meet at home against Missouri on Jan 18th, Kentucky Feb. 22nd, and Minnesota on March 1...all Friday night meets. Also on Saturday April 6th an NCAA regional meet will be held in G-ville. Hopefully we'll be there.

got in some mens tennis this past weekend! we dominated miami hurricanes. looks like we've got a pretty good team in the making this season.
and the basketball game vs missouri was an absolute blast! rowdies really make the atmosphere special. they actually mimicked the dazzlers for one dance and that was a visual delight. lots of fun. plus the game - wow! got to see BD in action up close and see his 400th gator win! a treat!
for the sports weekend trifecta: gonna check out the women's hoops game today (sunday) - cheer on the gators to an upset win!

next home gator hoops doubleheader weekend to plan for [now] is Feb 2nd when the men take on olemiss saturday at 7 pm and the gator women host alabama 1 pm sunday, Feb 3rd.
plan now: tix will likely be hot for the game w/ the rebels, so grab 'em up now! stay the weekend to catch the women in action sunday! [no issue getting tix for that one]. need fans in the stands. rabid gator fans in the stands. rabid hoops fans in the stands cheering on the gators.
can't believe how much FUN it was in the stands vs missouri. for those that attended, we can ALL attest to that fact. that was a blast. if you haven't been to a game this year, now is the time to plan - come for the weekend 'doubleheader' too. support both the men and women's programs! they may do another 'dance' routine w/ the dazzlers - that was a treat!
also, on the docket for the weekend: gator tennis.
women take on Baylor saturday at 1pm. can catch the whole match before the hoops game. and it's a blast to watch in person. non stop action. highly recommend it. it's rivetting action!
men take on furman sunday at noon. can catch some of the doubles action before the hoops tip at 1 pm in the o'dome.
a great gator sports weekend. come and have a blast supporting the teams!

a potentially big weekend coming up feb 2/3rd
on saturday, ole miss comes to town. marshall henderson: will he taunt the rowdy reptiles?? will the "Billy D" shut him down? he's in line for SEC player of the year. so get your tix 'now' and attend!
also have women's tennis. nat'l champs! face a good butler squad. at 1pm. can catch that before the men's BB game at 7 pm
there may also be some baseball practice/scrimmage either on saturday or sunday. might be interesting to stop by that and check out all the new faces in the lineup.
on sunday, men's tennis at noon.
women's hoops at 1pm - facing bama in the o'dome. come out and support the program! can get really close to the action!
friday night: men's and women's swimming host tennessee in the odome at 7 pm
action packed weekend! come out for multiple sports/multiple events. makes it worthwhile if you are coming from out of town.
