NCAA Seed Lines via Sagarin
always like to use sagarin to establish who is over-seeded or under-seeded when it comes to the ncaa brackets. thought i might look at potential seed lines starting now using sagarin. see how they compare to, say, lunardi's bracketology too
1 seeds per Sagarin's composite poll 1.25.13:
Florida (!), Kansas, Michigan, Duke
2 seeds:
Indiana, Louisville, Syracuse, Gonzaga (!)
3 seeds:
Ohio State, Minnesota, Arizona, Miami-Fl (!)
4 seeds:
Pitt, Mich State, Creighton, Cincy
5 seeds:
Wisconsin, Baylor, Ole Miss, VCU
6 seeds:
Kentucky, NCSU, Marquette, UNLV
7 seeds:
Georgetown, Okla State, UCLA, Missouri
8 seeds:
Oregon, Butler, San Diego State, New Mexico
9 seeds:
Wichita State, UNC, Kansas State, Notre Dame
10 seeds:
Memphis, Colorado State, Uconn, Iowa
last 4 in?:
St Mary's, Colorado, Oklahoma, Virginia
we'll stop here as everyone from 10 on are bubble teams
how do those look to you?

Lunardi has no vote. Good thing because he is clueless.

It amazes people cite lunardi. It's like saying I'm going to ask a stockbroker who has posted 10 straight years of losses for a tip.

The problem with Lunardi is he has no foresight. He essentially just goes with current rankings with some basic RPI with it.

Yes um and that's exactly what he says. He says and gets paid for picking teams AS IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY. Some of you must just read the number Florida is at and hate.

Actually the problem is he simply is not accurate. He typically falls at or near tge bottom for media prognosticators on his final bracket.

I was thinking three for awhile, but with Ole Miss' impressive start, four is a distinct possibility.

Neither. He would ask Lunardi to pull the trigger because he would likely miss.

As of today the Vegas books have us as the second most likely team to win the Naty. Michigan is 7/2 odds and we are 4/1 followed by Indiana and Kansas at 7/1.

Although the season is about half-way over, it remains far too early in Conference play to post such projections.
Mostly, things will continue as they have, but there will be some substantial changes that occur for teams that get stars back (e.g. Missou), or that get their chemistry together, or simply lose key players.
As a professional predictor, I can tell you with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY that the best time to predict something is after it has occurred. This is true even if you have the non-local awareness of a Nostradamus or Edgar Cayce. When dealing with history, hits by such have far greater percentages (e.g. Cayce about the Essenes) than when dealing with future phenomena (due largely to dependent coorigination).

Not that I don't agree, but his current prognostication has us as a 1 seed in the West Region.
