Rivals predicting 'Bama finishes with top class
I found this to be an interesting read:
http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com...sp?CID=1464225
Interestingly enough, two massive additions to Florida's program (transfer OL Max Garcia and Tyler Moore) haven't really been factored into these rankings. Both are not only great prospects, but proven players at the division 1 level.
Rivals points to the number of (quality) prospects 'Bama is looking to add between now and signing day as the reason they feel the Tide will end up number one. As long as they don't lose any current players from their class and close on the players they're expected to, they theoretically will land the top class.
Our most realistic options left for this class are Ramsey, Powell, Swannson and Clark. Realistically I think Clark and Swannson (depending on his grades) are the two most likely players we get from that group. We're on the outside looking in at Bostwick, Adams, Alexander, Collins and Nkemdiche, all of whom rivals calls "long shots" for us. Of course, anything can happen between now and Feb 6th, so none of this speculation is even close to being absolute.
But it looks like 'Bama will close strong enough to do it again. However, if you were to factor in the additions of Moore and Garcia, two proven players at the division one level, I actually like our class better. Those were two great players we've brought to Florida, yet neither count toward this class. Great job by Muschamp.

I believe Moore is being counted because he is considered a JC transfer.

You could be right, but he's not listed among the 25 players they count toward our class. I've seen some sites/services include him, but I'm not sure that Rivals does.
If you count those two, Florida has six offensive linemen (Johnson, Garcia, Moore, Dillard, Brown and O Jackson) on their way to Gainesville since last year's signing day concluded. Eleven players across the line of scrimmage total and, as we all know, that's where football games are won in the SEC.

I've seen Florida fluctuate more on rivals than ESPN, or scouts. I don't like scouts either because its fox and they're pro big 12..

ESPN has us more highly ranked than maybe we should be.. But, the only way to really tell is to go back 3 to 5 years and see who did what with their classes/rankings.

Meh, regular consensus top 5 classes, especially ones that fill needs, means you're doing work and setting yourself up for an MNC game.

I agree completely, although 'Bama seems to get the number one class every year and fill their needs.
That's what we've done. When you start talking about top-3 classes, there really isn't much of a difference in the quality of the personnel you're adding to your roster. We've done extremely well this year.

I'm not sure Rivals has UF's players available right. There is no mention of 4 star Clark or 4 star Timmons. We get Bostwicks last visit and he isn't factored either.
Swanson - no points - then it doesn't matter if we hold a ship and he doesn't sign
Ramsey
Powell
Clark OR Timmons
Bostwick OR Reed
If this happens, UF will finish ahead of bama. With that said, it doesn't really matter as both schools have outstanding classes.
I also like to look at the enrolled classes come September. This national championship yak on NSD is just that, yak. It's designed to sell interest and membership.

You all need to stop imagining these sites upgrade a player's status if he's considering a school other than Florida, and "ding" him if he turns out to be a Gator.

Timmons is rated as a 3 star player and ranked 68th at his position. He doesn't help us much with rankings, but we whiff on Clark and Joker thinks Timmons is a keeper, he's fine with me. Reed is also a star prospect but he's a huge get in terms of need, rankings be damned.
I feel like we have a decent shot at Ramsey. Getting him, Bostwick and Q. Powell back might put us ahead of Bama in the end. Adams and Nkemdiche are the only other 5 star guys left other than Ramsey but they are long shots.
Then again, Bama has a very good shot at Matthew Thomas and Vonn Bell, a decent shot at Reuben Foster, Tunsil, Adams and Vanderhoes. That's six 5 star players still on their board. Getting any two of those pushes their avg. player ranking off the charts. They will probably add two or three four star guys to fill up. In that case, nobody would catch. them.
The only thing that matters going against Bama is recruiting on the OL and the front seven defensively. Our transfers probably give us an edge on the offensive side. Both teams are sitting on just one true DT and waiting on a couple of good ones to come through, but even for now. They won't touch us at LB, but they're DE class is very strong, especially if they add Dee Liner. We just have to hope for the best regarding Adams, Bostwick, Nkemdiche and Reed, and hope that Bama doesn't get Adams, Vanderhoes, Tunsil or Foster.

Bama isn't getting Vanderhoes, Adams, and probably not Tunsil. Foster will probably recommit to AU or go to UGALY.
Dee Liner is a DT and a bama lock.
Matthew Thomas and Von Bell are bama.

You mean like Scout dropping VH3 from the top 10 after securing the MVP in the UAAG?
Sure thing friend.

Thomas and Kirkland are staying home in Miami after their lack of sanctions. Miami may get a decent class in the end with likely Collins staying as well

One of the few sites that predicts that we'll win the 2013 recruiting wars as well.
