yes wilbekin and kenny are our best 2 overall players IMO with Murphy very close. Scottie's D is underrated even though people are high on it and his offense is really coming around.

I think offensive and defensively he is our most productive player. I also think that his game has improved more than any other player from freshman to junior year other than Noah and Noah made his biggest leap his sophomore year.

I like the fact that PY has become more consistent at being consistent throughout the course of the game ever since BD challenged him to do so. He still can improve in this area but much improved since last year in my book.

I think that the Murphy that played against Wisconsin is our best all-around player he was a beast in that game, Scotty against Georgia was fantastic as well, Big Pat Young has been our best player in a couple of games as has Will and Kenny. And don't forget Rosario – That's what's great about this team!

Exactly, I am not sure who is UF's best player is. UF has 8 rotation players. I guess I can say that UF's best player is not Frazier, though he has provide valuable minutes. I guess I can say it is not Prather although he leads UF in offensive efficiency. After that I can not say whether it is Young or Yeguete or Wilbekin or Rosario or Murphy or Boynton. Certainly as you did, a case can be made for all of them.

Its hard to say who is best. We are too inconsistent on offense. Wilbekin is the most improved, I think Frazier might end up being really good.
When Murphy is on he is unstoppable. There is no clear winner, yet.

Don't know about best player, but he was brought in to be a pg and billy seems to have finally given him that role (after trying to give boynton a transition that hurt his offense). Wilbekin was reported to be a good pg prospect as a hs jr, so not sure why billy waited so long. Hopefully, boynton finds his shooting guard stroke from last year.

Murph is our best player... Unique blend of size and skill sets that puts a ton of pressure on opposing defenses, and opens the floor for teammates.

It's game to game right now but I have been really impressed with Scottie lately it seems like every 3 he takes I'm shocked if it doesn't go down. Overall he's been the most consistent to me lately especially when we needed someone to be like GA in the first half.

I bet opposing coaches game plan for Young first as they did for Horford. For all the complaints about him, you have stop the ball from going into him for easy shots just as with Horford. Then they probably game plan for Murphy as he does stretch the D. Then the guards.

Maybe Billy felt a strong need to start Rosario and that a starting lineup of Boynton, Rosario, Yuegette, Murph, Young constituted our best five on the floor. Hard to disagree with that. Truth is, though, that KB is not a PG. Wilbekin has proven not only to be a valuable defensive contributor, but a strong offensive leader at that point. The need to play him at the point presents the conflict with Rosario getting minutes. Then the quandary is Rosario or Yuegette at the three. Good news is that we have some serious depth at the two and three spots.

The lineup started that way because Scottie was suspended. After he returned, I believe it stayed that way because BD tends to stay with what's working and it was working fairly well. It wasn't until it became obvious that the Boynton at pg experiment was not working as well as against better teams and was much better when Scottie was in as pg, that changes became more permanent. Depth and injuries have also played a huge role in our starting lineups.
Of course, this is only my personal opinion and may be way off the mark...

I think Billy waited, because Wilbekin's PG play (on offense) was pretty spotty for a long time. But, with Boynton struggling to score at PG, I think Billy decided it was worth it to put Wilbekin back there.
And, Wilbekin has responded! In the last couple of games, he's starting to show that he can do more than just initiate the offense and hit jumpers when he's open. He's really started to challenge the defense with effective dribble penetration and smarter decisions/passing when he gets in there, both of which had been a little suspect before IMO.
And, he's doing a much better job against the full-court press as well.

i like the post about continuity and chemistry for a team. this one has it. it's also very coachable. that's evident. you contrast that to the teams right after the nat'l titles: no one on the team to pass the baton. you're seeing that sort of issue w/ this year's UK team as well.
really happy w/ the progress SW has made. he IS a point guard in every definition now. last year there were doubts. this year: none! it is a testament to his play and the coaches' work as well.
just reading thru the thread has me doubly excited about the current team and next year's team. may have to invest in season tix or at least the weekend package deal(s) - excitement is building again and if the game w/ missouri is any indication, we're about to knock the ceiling out of the o'dome once again over gator basketball!

OK
The real answer is simple - Billy D is the best player on the team, because without him, none of the other players on the team would be there.

yep, BD is a star. an icon now. not just for gator fans.
i know some knoll and cane fans that just despise everything about the gators, but sorta revere donovan. they are gator hoops fans in a minor way due to donovan. that's sayin' something.
