gators - men and women - are performing better than i was anticipating.
i have the men going 1-1 this coming week, we'll see.
women are ahead of the pace i was predicting.

What game are we going to lose this next week? Miss St, S.Carolina, Ole Miss. Pomeroy shows chance of a win at 99%, 99%, and 93%. My expectations are slightly higher to say the least.

That expectation was from the week before the last three games, so he as thinking we'd lose one of A&M or Missouri. Fortunately, didn't happen.

i see us winning big vs miss state and s carolina. but on the road can always be a bit iffy. ole miss should be a nice test w/ henderson. he's making a name for himself. leading candidate for SEC POY, so that's a challenge to shut him down - next weekend.

past the half way point:
Gator Women:
@ UK ----------- big L (0-1) W
vs LSU ---------- L (0-2) W ahead of pace
@ Miss State ---- W (1-2) W
vs Tenn -- logic says big L, but this might be the year to spring an upset w/ the coaching transition in knoxville...? L (1-3) L
vs USCe --------- L (1-4) L
vs Ole Miss ------ W (2-4) L this one hurt! back 'on-pace'
@ UGA ---------- big L (2-5) L
@ Mizzou ------- L (2-6) L
vs Bama -------- W (3-6) W
@ Auburn ------- W (4-6) W
@ Tex A&M ---- spring an upset! W (5-6)
vs UGA -------- L (5-7)
vs Vandy ------ spring an upset! W (6-7)
@ Bama ------- W (7-7)
vs UGA -------- L (7-8)
@ USCe ------- big L (7-9)
16 regular season conference games, predicting a 7 & 9 record in the SEC for the gals.
so far 'on-pace', but need to spring some upsets down the road, here.
Gator Men:
vs UGA -------- Big W (1-0) W
@ LSU -------- W (2-0) W
@ Tex A&M --- L (2-1) road weary W ahead of pace
vs Mizzou ----- W (3-1) big saturday home win W
@ UGA, what?! again, so soon?! W (4-1) W
@ Miss State --- W (5-1) W
vs USCe ----- Big W (6-1) W
vs Ole Miss ---- W (7-1) W
@ Ark --------- L (7-2) rough venue L
vs Miss State, again? what's w/ this schedule?! Big W (8-2) W
vs UK, big test - W (9-2) W
@ AU ---------- W (10-2)
@ Mizzou ------ L (10-3)
vs Ark --------- W (11-3)
@ Tenn ------- L (11-4) our annual loss in knoxville...
vs Bama ------ W (12-4)
vs Vandy ----- Big W (13-4)
@ UK --------- L (13-5) Rupp!
men are tracking ahead of pace, so far. keep it up! get that SEC title!!!
still several 'toughies' left to negotiate, though.
18 conference games for the men. predicting a 13 & 5 regular season record for the Gator men.

Playing without Yeguete right now, at 10-1 with 7 games remaining, including road games at Missou, Tenn & Ky (admittedly, a Ky minus Noel) I think I underestimated this team's changes in the SEC by initially predicting 13-5.
They did manage to lose one they shouldn't have (Arky??????????? - who lost their next game to Vandy by 27 points???????????), but if this team doesn't manage at least 5-2 during the next 7 games, I will be pretty surprised. So, 15-3/25-5 going into the SEC tournament, and I think that is a worst-case scenario, even without Yeguete.

men are performing better , or about as expected.

I also like to divide the conference up in to 4 game groupings though going from 16 to 18 games has messed that up a bit. In the SEC I see it as:
vs UGA, W
@ LSU, W
@ aTm, W
vs UMo, W
So I have UF starting 4-0.
@ UGA, W this is a shakey pick as UF has not faired well there no matter how bad they have been in recent seasons.
@ Miss State, W
vs USCe, W
vs Ole Miss, W
So I have UF starting 8-0. I could see a loss somewhere in these 8 games, but
@ Ark, L
vs Miss State, W
vs UK, W
@ AU, W
So I have UF 11-1 after 12 SEC games. I could even see UF winning at UAR.
@ Mizzou, L
vs Ark, W
@ Tenn, L
vs Bama, W
So I have UF 13-3 after 16 SEC games. UF did win at UTn two years back but I never predict UF wins against UTn until UF develops a pattern of beating them.
vs Vandy, W
@ UK, L
So I have UF 1-1 in the last 2 and 14-4 in the SEC. I could see an extra random loss or two. I just do not see where I can predict such a loss.
24 and 6 heading into the SEC tourney would set UF up for a very good seed.

I had UF going 12-3 after 15 SEC games and alas there is where UF stands. I had UF losing at UAR, at UMo and at UTn. Alas those are the games UF lost. I did not predict injuries that made those 3 losses tougher even than I thought.

And what is funny is that the 3 games we have lost were all games that most people on here predicted we would lose, yet when we actually lost those games everyone went into meltdown mode. lol

you're spot on, insti....you're now the "EF Hutton" on the board
now, we're all gonna listen intently to how you predict the post-season for the gators...
