Its the off season, I don't know where Cam Newton is. I need to back up my laptop. Its a Toshiba, 300GB. Its just less than half full. Should I just get an external hard drive or something else?
External hard drives protect from loss due to hardware failure. Problems with that are that many times you have to manually backup and you forget. Also, if you have a fire or natural disaster, your original and your backup are gone.
The only way to prevent that is to have your backup offsite. That's what online "cloud" backup offerings. They also usually run automatically backing up whatever you choose to backup automatically. Carbonite, Mozy, etc. I highly recommend.
