What equipment do you have in your home gym?
I've been using a generic weight bench and hex type fixed weight dumbbells for my lifting.
I'm seriously considering getting an olympic weight set and possibly a small Smith Machine to get back into power lifting. Anyone go that route?

A crude apparatus that has a bench, chinning and dipping bars and hooks for squats. I also have about 350 lbs. of weights, some adjustable dumbbells, a few cast-iron dumbbells, a heavy bag and a stability ball.
Paid less than $100 for all of it.

I was extraordinarily lucky. Got my apparatus from a friend for $25. Then, one day while walking through my neighborhood, I discovered that a neighbor was throwing away roughly 300 lbs. of weight plates. Said he was switching to kettlebells and happily helped me load his plates in my trunk.

Been thinking about getting a setup similar to what Dream described.
A rack for supporting weights and can hold catch bars
A moveable bench
Olympic weight set.
I currently do the gym thing with no fees (work related), so I have access to all of that equipment on my own, but I am trying to get my wife to do some lifting as well. She does not have access to my gym for my cost ($0).

I have been slowly selling off my gym equipment and headed back to the gym last year. As of now, I am trying to get rid of a Marcy Olympic Bench Press with squat rack on the back. Also has a Leg extension preacher curl attachment too. 300lbs of weights and I am willing to give it to anyone that will com pick it up
Also have this, can't find a buyer and have put it on Ebay 10 tiimes:

I paid way too much for it and have hardly used it. It's a great machine though and the wife keeps telling me she is gonna start using it

Just finished upgrading our basement gym w/ new paint and new foam floor last week:
Rack, bench, Oly bar, curl bar, and 260# of weights for $250 through buying / reselling on CL.
$100 Schwinn eliptical (also a CL purchase) that Mrs. Exile uses and I use for warm ups / cool downs.
Homemade pull/chin up bar hanging from 1st floor joists.
Also my road bike on a 1UP trainer. That'll start getting use in Mid-March (bike across ME in June). 32" flat panel is also new, wall mount arrives today! I used to have a 100# CRT television hung up there. Ugh.
Did you notice the racing stripe? My gym is fast!
I'm loving the new set-up. Only problem is my workouts are getting too long (creeping over an hour) because I kinda like being in there...

Looks sweet! I can actually see where you'd find yourself getting holed-up in there. It has a certain, Doomsday Prepper feel.

Ha! Thanks. I thought about going w/ a blue and orange motif, but then started thinking about getting a stencil for a huge gator head logo on the wall... I figured I'd nip it in the bud and just use a bunch of paint I already had on hand.
If the gympocalypse ever comes, I'm gonna charge top dollar for these 200 sq/ft.

I like your chiining bar. I could do some stuff on that that might dislodge my Iron Gym.

Bought an everlast heavy bag stand for $60 brand new last week. Have a 100lb bag for it. The stand also has a captains chair, dip bar, pull up bar, push up handles and sit up bar. Got a local guy that re-sells plate weights and such to fitness centers. Going to stop by his warehouse this week and see if I can get a good deal on some plate weights and bars. Finally trading in the old gym membership and setting up on my own. Been talking about doing it for some time. Having a 5 month old finally did it for me. I have no time anymore and its been killing me to miss my gym/running days.

If I had a home gym, my priorities would be:
1. Pull up bar with an option to mount rings for dips
2. Concept II Rower
3. A few kettle bells
Eventually maybe some bumper weights

Pity none of you live in or near Orlando. I'm looking to divest myself of a bunch of weight plates.

I can get 25 cents a pound from a nearby sporting goods store. I need to get something. Saving up money for my long trek west.
