Which team has UF faced more times than any other in the NCAA tournament?


It is Butler (3 times) and I wonder if we will see them again this year!

Also, UF has never faced another SEC team in the NCAA tournament.

I had exactly the same thought. Doesn't it just feel like its going to happen? I don't think they should worry Florida fans this year, but I'd probably rather play against a team that is a little less comfortable in that underdog role.

Some call it coincidence (I highly recommend Koestler's "The Roots of Coincidence" and Fuller's "Synchroneity" for those), some call it fate, some call if life.

You may recall that in the 1994 Final 4, Florida lost to Duke thereby avoiding another rematch with Arkansas, the eventual Champion. Last year, the loss to Louisville kept the Gators from a 4th game against that outstanding Ky team.

Of course, in the SEC tournaments, the Gators have played only SEC teams, so perhaps that is why they haven't been forced to play any in the NCAA (just joking - shows pretty good planning by the Bracketeers).
