C'mon coach - he could practically play inside this year as a true freshman, just imagine what he looks like in one more year of Dilman's 'eat all you can eat' program.

It sounds like the last two weeks of the recruiting cycle for Florida might be slow. Is that a ptetty good assumption?

Indeed it will. Quinton Powell has cancelled the rest of his visits and named a top 2 of Florida and USC.

It looks like it will move slowly if not backwards during some stretches.

That stinks. It will still be a really strong class.

USC, huh? I don't like head-to-head battles with that school. I didn't like when top prospects from Florida used to visit them under Carroll, and they've been alive and well down there under Kiffin. There's just something about that place...
It would be nice to have Powell back in the fold.

I have said this for awhile I think Powell goes to USC if they have room and it looks like they will. Unlike some I think the Florida staff would still take him (at least I would)

I have too. Playing with Leonard is a big deal to him.

But I live in a self-absorbed world, where no elite highschool senior would want to go anywhere but Florida. None of these guys want to play for anybody but Muschamp. None of them want to "rock" anything but the orange and blue. We're talking about the University of Florida. Anybody who DOES sign elsewhere gets paid to do it. Or they're morons. Small-minded. Fools.
Is it practical? Probably not; but expect Powell to sign with the good guys.

Since UF isn't actively recruiting Quinton Powell, he might not get an LOI to sign and return on NSD.

I posted at the end of December that the naysayers would be out in full force when recruits started falling to other schools despite the quality of our class. They're just getting started.

"Wasted away" would be a strong choice of words.
Actually, we've done outstanding at the position over these last two classes. Considering the nature of our defense, guys like Ivie, Bullard, Riles and Quinteze Williams give the coaching staff the flexability to rotate any one of them inside or out, depending on the situation. They are perfect prospects for the style of defense we play. Muschamp believes in being multiple, but is also cut from Saban's cloth. It is by design that our front 3/4 will not produce many sacks. It is also by design that pressure is generated from the back eight. I say eight because the "Buck" position isn't necessarily considered to be a pure, every-down linemen.
The goal for the defensive linemen in this defense is to get a push and keep the offensive line tied up. If they can get to the QB, great. But again, pressure is going to be generated from the back eight. The personnel we've brought in is outstanding for the direction the staff is trying to go in. Last year we brought in three DE/Buck prospects (Fowler, McCallister and Cox), plus we return Powell at the position this year. We're set.

A read he was a player of the ball of the foot that visited the state of Florida University, which happens to have a ball of the foot team, in which they play other ball of the foot teams in a spirited match with other southerly located universities.
