USC....Auburn....FSU and Miami bettet be happy that I am not running the NCAA. What you all think is harsh seems like a slap on the wrist in my world. I would be handing out "no schollies for 5 years" penalties like it was candy.

Can't help but think back to Willie Williams. I think he was named in the allegations too.

Well, that's the problem. It's the NCAA determining what will or will not happen.

I think UF was the last to feel any wrath from the NCAA and that was close to 30 years ago.

My two um buddies tune has changed, they’re pretty gloom & doom now.
I’m speculating, but I think they’ve gotten a heads up to expect some serious trouble.

Huh? How about Penn St a mere six months ago or even SMU from 1987?

The former coaches in question (Frank Haith and as well as football assistants Clint Hurtt and Aubrey Hill) are who is really in trouble here but there will be at least some scholarship reductions and official visit limits as well. Was Hurtt the primary recruiter for Bridgewater? I think he was. No wonder Strong is reluctant to let him go but there is no reason for the NCAA not to throw the book at him and ban him from off campus recruiting for three years. Strong will have to let him go if that happens.

UF was the last one to get really hammered! Wasn't the SMU cancellation of the whole season afterwards though? I think it was UF '85- 86 and SMU happened for the '87 season.

I will contest SCw and Penn State have gotten hammered as well. I, for one, have enjoyed the return of the Hard-A$$ NCAA. In the friendly 90s Ohio State and North Carolina would've never had bowl bans. Here's to hoping Miami gets what Lane Kiffin is dealing with.

Inspired by the Teo story, they're apparently getting non-existant and invisible probation.

Actually it was the 87 and 88 season. But all players were released from scholarship and the program was mothballed completely. In 89 they restarted but they lost 55 scholarships until 1992.
