This thread gives me esophageal spasms.
Whew. Gotta get out more, do other things.

Suzy Favor Hamilton working as an escort (hooker) is as bizarre as anything I've seen. She is married, a mother of young children, successful and actually has the Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year Award named after her.
It's the bizarro world opposite of Tiger's secret life.

There are many bizarre stories in this thread. In many of them, however, the strange element has nothing to do with the athlete's sport.
Jack Taylor's basketball game, where he averaged 3 shots per minute: 108 shot attempts (71 of them for 3), and 138 points. This has to be one of the most bizarre stories where the weirdness occurred within the confines of the sport being played.

In 2009, Texas, a girl's high school basketball coach at a small private school was fired for beating a team from a small school for children with learning disabilities, 100 to 0.

Poisoned trees at Auburn is a big one for me too.

Penn State - Sandusky cover up.
Tonya Harding.
Joe Namath advertises women's panty hose... thoroughly confuses Richard Raskind who becomes Rene Richards and goes on to play women's tennis professionally.
Texas mom kills daughter's school mate... so daughter can be head cheerleader.
Woody Hayes punches out Clemson player who dares to intercept his QB's pass during the 78 Gator Bowl.
I once attended a Clemson game where rival fans were holding up signs saying "Don't bring Flowers to mom"... turned out a Clemson RB named Flowers raped the mother of one of his teammates.
Mike Tyson bites off part of Evander Holyfield's ear during a fight... also brags the best punch he ever landed was on his ex-wife, Robin Givens.
Ron Artest attacks fans in stands, brings guns to games... changes his name to Meta World Peace.
Florida fans tell Cam Newton not to let the door hit him in the azz on the way out... no debate on the ethics side of it, but how many of us said that Cam can't throw and we've got a real QB anyway? Cam allegedly goes on to tell Mississippi State thanks but no thanks during his recruitment... because the money at Auburn is just too good. And the NCAA does nothing... but pat him on the back on his way to Heismann and BCS championship trophies.
Bama fan teabags drunk LSU fan in a public restaurant, while apparently knowing he's being recorded. University of Alabama proudly displays their championship trophy... in Walmart.

Confession: I have said many time sand will still say that Cam couldn't throw when he was at UF. Granted a small sample size even including the spring, but he was awful here. I didn't think he ran all that well at UF either. I told Auburn friends not to expect much, that I'd believe it when I saw it. I thought at the time the issues were all in his head and I still believe that is true. Even the most gifted athlete can look awkward and bad if confused and uncertain. That was Cam at UF.
Whatever happened to him at JuCo helped him grow up and wake up, to his well deserved credit. But there was nothing from his UF years upon which to build a case that he was on the verge of transforming from Josh Portis redux to Vince Young.
I do wish his recruitment were a clean story, but even so I wish him the best.

Sorry...but If you ever watched him and Tebow warm up side by side pre game , you'd never say that. Even as a Frosh Cam was throwing some lasers with better form and velocity than Tim. I'm not a Cam fan at all....but the kid could hurl it . Even then....His problem is intangibles. Timmy has them ...Cam does not.
